Vehicle Detail
This 1999 Chevrolet 2500 Suburban Diesel has 116,000 miles on it and is in great condition. Finding these diesels with relatively low mileage is becoming harder with every passing year. I am the second owner of this truck and it has served me well. Over the 40,000 miles that I put on it, it never once had a problem on the open road. By far, the Suburban Diesel is the most comfortable and powerful towing machine I have ever driven. You can drive for 16 hours and never get sore and barely realize that you have something in tow. No wonder it has such a great reputation with the equestrian and racing crowd. During a recent blizzard, we had over two feet of snow and the Burbie barreled right through it. The four-wheel drive system is amazing in its ability to handle tough weather and off-road conditions. Overall the truck is in great shape for its age but there are several items that will need to be addressed, discussed below. Here is a list of the equipment and options: · Powerful diesel 6.5L 8 Cylinder Turbocharged Diesel · 4 wheel drive with low range · Heavy duty towing package · Anti-lock brakes · Air bags · 42 Gallon fuel tank · Cruise control · AC (front only) · Heat in front and back · Power locks · Power windows · Leather seats · Power seats in the front · Third row seat · CD player/Tape/Premium Stereo · Privacy glass · Running boards · Two-tone gold/black color option · Tires and brakes are in good condition · New starter and batteries The items that need attention: Towards the end of summer, I drove to town, and the truck would not restart after my first stop at the hardware store. I came back a couple of hours later and it started right up. After a little reading on the Web, it sounds like there is a high-pressure oil leak to the turbo, which is a basic repair and is common. The pump or the hoses probably need to be replaced due to not being driven enough over the past winter. Otherwise, the motor is in perfect running condition. New brake lines to all four corners. Rusty bumper will have to be replaced. The reserve price is set below the Blue Book Value to allow the new owner to get these minor fixes done. On Nov-16-12 at 19:23:43 PST, seller added the following information: Also, someone asked about the brake lines. The lines are new to all corners. The fronts were done this past spring and the rears were done about a month ago. On Nov-17-12 at 06:28:30 PST, seller added the following information: I took the truck for a test drive this morning. Ran it for about 15 miles. Shut it off and it restarted without any problem. I waited 10 minutes to let the heat from the motor soak and again, it started right up again. So,the issue may be only in summer or was temporary in nature. Hope this helps.
