The restoration was completed under the watchful eye of Todd Rasmussen, a well known BMW restoration expert here in central Oklahoma. Ridden 513 miles since restoration, the bike is well sorted and ready for a new owner. Restoration work included: Engine, transmission and final drive refreshed, including new valve guides, valves re-surfaced, new stainless steel pushrod tubes, slingers cleaned, cylinders honed, new rings, new clutch, new second gear in transmission. New seals in engine, transmission and final drive. New wheel bearings, new stainless steel spokes, new tires, new wiring harness and control cables, new battery, new brake linings, tank was lined, new fuel petcock, carbs rebuilt, forks and rear shocks rebuilt, new seat, new exhaust headers and mufflers, new luggage rack. All chrome was re-plated and rubber items replaced with new. Charging system is original and functions as designed. Todd did a museum quality paint job and Mike Robbins applied correct striping. Matching number bike starts on first kick, runs smooth and strong. 36,855 kilometers total, 855 kilometers since restoration.
