Vehicle Detail
I have a 1978 Triumph Spitfire for sale. I restored as most of the car as I can without taking the body off the frame. I had the side marker lights on the rear and front fenders shaved, as well as the atenna. Its painted a Toyota color, (Absolute Red). The chrome was stripped off the bumpers and painted black along with the bumper brackets and bumper guards painted with new bumper coating. The lower air dam piece was also painted with a black truck bed lining to prevent flaking. New KYB shocks were installed along with a freshly painted sway bar that is mounted with all new brackets and poly bushings. The front coil springs were repainted as well. The inner and outer tie rods, and all the wheel bearings were replaced. The brake master cylinder, clutch master cylinder, and slave cylinder were rebuilt and painted. Both calipers were rebuilt and painted with a high temp red paint. New rear wheel cylinders, drums, shoes, hardware and Goodridge stainless steel braided brake lines were installed as well. U-Joints on the drive shaft and the rear axles were replaced. The car sits on new Panasport wheels (13 Inch) painted dark gray with polished lip (chrome lug nuts), with brand new Bridgestone Potenza tires. New engine mounts, trans mounts, tranny tail seal replaced, new tranny oil, new front main seal, timing chain, water pump, radiator was cleaned and painted, new radiator hoses, Weber downdraft 2 barrel carb with K&N filter with mannual choke, Lokar stainless steel braided throttle cable, Pacesetter header with heat wrap, Black with polished fins valve cover with Minicooper style T-Handle valve cover nuts, Gauges rebuilt along with new gauge to dash seals, new temp sensor and oil pressure sensor, switched to a Pentronix electric distributor, runs perfect, timing is right on, starts with ease, flamethrower coil, Brandnew Duralast yellow top battery, Euro headlights with halogen bulbs, used the heavy duty halogen headlight harness, fuel tank was taken out, cleaned, painted, new hoses to and from tank, and new fuel filter, new fuel cap,(Chrome), New soft top, chrome bullet style mirror, all the interior is new, seats, carpet, door panels, door hardware and handles were polished or painted, wood dash, 3 spoke tourist throphy wheel, pedal covers, shifter knob, dash top, door seals, as well as all the seals around the car are new, stainless sill plates and carpet mats with the Triumph logo. New windshield and seals. The exhaust goes from a heat wrapped pacesetter header to a custom mid pipe, to a monza muffler set up with 4 tips. I made a custom bar in the rear between the rear fender wells to hold a 3 point harness for each seat. All of the existing holes for the original seat belts are still there and are actually what I used for the harness. The trunk is clean with no rust, as well as the floor pans and the rest of the car. The only issue with the car is the temp gauge. It will go all the way to the hot side before the engine is even warmed up. I have replaced everything in the cooling system and the car does NOT over heat. The gauges were rebuilt, but I think the temp gauge must not have been calibrated right. All the other gauges work perfectly fine. The gauges were rebuilt by Nisonger Instruments back in 2005. Taking them out of the car and sending them out to get rebuilt was one of the first things I did when I bought the car. The gauges sat in a box for a couple years before going back in the car. This is when I realized the temp gauge acted weird. I bought car with 67,xxx miles on it. Still has 67,xxx. drove it maybe 300-400 miles since restoring it, Never even registered it, Spent 2-3 years working on it and lost interest by the time I finished, stored in a heated garage, with battery tender under a car cover, car is mint, there is probably much more that I forgot to list, I can e mail more pictures and videos of the car running and driving. I did the car with good taste and very good parts. Title is clean. (203) 313-4229
