COME TAKE THIS ONE FOR A TEST DRIVE!!! YOU WON'T BE DISSAPOINTED!!! HIGH BIDDER DRIVES IT HOME!!! This has been a really excellent truck. It hasn't had any mechanical problems at all in the year I've owned it other than a new alternator. It is in New York now since I just moved here but prior to last month it has spent its entire life in Colorado where they are not allowed to use salt on the roads. I have never driven it in salt anywhere else either, and from its almost entirely rust free condition, I would guess that nobody else has ever driven it on salted roads either. It is really in very good condition overall.THIS IS A DIESEL PICK UP TRUCK, NOT A PAIR OF SHOES. PLEASE BE A FULLY INFORMED BIDDER AND READ THE ENTIRE TEXT OF THE AUCTION AND LOOK AT ALL OF THE PHOTOS BEFORE BIDDING. MAKE SURE YOU AGREE WITH THE TERMS OF BIDDING AND PLEASE BE CERTAIN YOU ARE READY TO PURCHASE A TRUCK BEFORE YOU PLACE A BID. THIS IS A SERIOUS AUCTION FOR A SERIOUS TRUCK!!!! PLEASE ONLY BID WHAT YOU ARE READY TO SPEND! PAYMENT MUST BE RECEIVED IN FULL WITHIN 24 HOURS!!! I highly encourage you to come test drive the truck prior to bidding, because once you bid you are agreeing to make this purchase. Please bid responsibly and do not bid just for the fun of pressing the button. Your bid is a legally binding contract to purchase this truck. CALL ME IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS YOU WANT TO ASK ABOUT THIS TRUCK OR TO ARRANGE A TEST DRIVE. WILLIAM (347) 675-5062 The Cummins Diesel engine starts every time without any problems even in the coldest Colorado winter days. I have driven this truck coast to coast several times putting a lot of highway miles on it in the last 12 months. It has been excellent in every way. It is the luxury edition with Automatic Transmission, Power Windows, AC, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power SideView Mirrors and Cruise Control. All that stuff works flawlessly, and the heater pushes a big wall of warmth on even the coldest days. The only things wrong with the truck are a few minor issues. Here is a list: No CD Player and the Cassette player is broken. Radio works fine though. No Emergency Brake and due to this the ABS light and dash Brake light remain lit. I had an estimate when I got the truck to fix this for a couple hundred bucks but just never got to it. Since it is Automatic Tranny it does fine just to put it in park when it is parked. On super steep inclines I use a brick or rock to chock the tire for safety but it has never rolled in Park. The metal decorative lower side panels that come on the luxury edition Dodge trucks have been removed from the two doors because I guess the adhesive that held them on worked loose and trapped moisture behind. The only rust issues I've found at all are from the same issue at a couple of very small spots at the top of the other decorative metal panels. You can see this rust bubbling behind the paint in the photos about the size of a rolled up dollar bill at the top of the rear decorative panel on the passenger side. There is a chip in the plastic tail-light frame on the passenger side. You can see it in the photo. There are a few small paint scratches and minor bump dents from and a few little white paint smudges from paint cans etc. All these defects are visible in the photos so take a close look. The clear coat on the red paint is peeling on the hood and the top of the cab—pretty common for red trucks, but fortunately it hasn't actually damaged the red paint itself yet. So if you care a lot about aesthetics you might want to have the truck re-clear-coated. I used it as a carpenter and painting contractor so this never really bugged me. The interior upholstery has a few minor coffee stains and carpet stains. Still looks pretty good for a 95 truck but not a brand new truck either. It uses about one quart of oil every four tanks of diesel fuel. It has a slight oil drip. The truck was cared for by a super excellent Cummins Diesel Mechanic in Colorado and my little brother and about half the guys on my fire department all drive Dodge Cummins 2500s. Some people joke about our volunteer fire department as the Cummins club. But pretty much everyone's truck except the guys with brand new ones all seem to have the same sort of oil leak, and my Mechanic, Eric, checked the source of the oil and it is just an drip from an upper gasket rather than a low down drip that could indicate any sort of real problem. Just put a piece of cardboard on the floor if you park in a garage so as not to have oil drip stains. These trucks also tend to sometimes develop front end suspension issues, but Eric says this one is doing pretty good and doesn't seem to have any issues. The windshield has a crack along the top of the windshield above the viewing area on the passenger side. You can see it in the photos. The tires aren't new, and at least two of them are getting fairly worn down. The spare tire needs to be replaced also. The latch handle on the tailgate is busted so you have to open it with a screwdriver. Good Stuff: For a diesel its still pretty low mileage even though for a gas car this many miles would seem like a lot. But my little brother has a 95 also and his truck has over 600K miles on it and still running strong. He is a welder doing industrial stuff so he ends up driving even more than I do. Everyone in our Cummins club pays the extra cash and uses AmsOil with the special oil treatment for each oil change. We buy it in bulk for ourselves and through the fire department for all the fire trucks. AmsOil is amazing stuff and really helps prolong engine life and eliminates lots of the issues for high mileage diesel engines. It means that changing the oil costs about $100 but its worth it for the extra lifespan of your Cummins engine. The only reason we are selling this truck is to get a smaller car that will get 35 plus MPG for commuting to New York City from our new home in upstate New York Catskill Mountains. For a truck this size, and if you need to tow a trailer or haul heavy loads a lot, these trucks can't be beat. The extras cost of diesel over gas is more than balanced out by the extra Miles Per Gallon. The gas version of the Dodge 2500 gets like 10 or 12 miles per gallon depending on what size engine and can't tow nearly as much. But the Cummins Diesel versions will get between 20 to 28 miles per gallon on the highway without a heavy load and this one gets about 15 to 18 mpg towing a heavy trailer. These are very powerful machines. Really almost like a small semi-truck or with the sort of industrial power of a farm tractor or military vehicle more than an average pick-up truck. It also handles really well. My wife was intimidated to drive it at first since she was used to driving economy cars, but now she is really comfortable behind the wheel. Especially the automatic transmission makes the driving easy for her. The crew cab fits three big working guys really easy in the back seat. The front seat console can keep a ton of papers and ball point pens and loose change and lighters and stuff, or it can also fold back and turn into a seat. When it is folded back the truck seats 6 adults easily. It also fits my son's baby car seat really well behind either the passenger seat or the drivers seat. The four wheel drive works excellent. You can shift into 4WD without getting out of the cab to switch hubs or anything. Just put the truck in Neutral then shift the floor shifter, then shift back to drive. Its that easy, and going back to 2WD is just as easy. It has 4WD high and low and a great working granny gear for tough hauling. Truck also has an OverDrive off switch for switching out of the 5th gear and keeping it as a 4 speed automatic transmission for hauling trailers or heavy loads through the mountains – very cool feature. The horn isn't as loud as I would like and the button for it is on the two sides of the steering wheel instead of the center. If I had one complaint to make to Dodge about the design of this truck it would be that the horn should be louder and in the center of the steering wheel. Also one annoying thing is the passenger door latch sometimes sticks a bit when the temperature is below freezing and you have to slam the door pretty hard to get it to shut right. This never seems to be a problem though except really cold days. I think it may be condensation freezing on the door latch mechanism and I've though maybe I could try getting at it with some WD40 sometime to try to fix that, but never got around to it. The truck has a center hole in the middle of the truck bed for mounting a goose-neck trailer hitch. It also has a really sturdy standard 2 inch hitch already installed and three holes in the rear bumper to put additional size trailer balls if you want multiple sizes. It is set up with a multi-system electrical connection so you can plug in several different types of trailer light plugs without having to switch to different plugs on the truck or the trailer. That is really handy if you use a newer trailer with modern lighting plug like seven pin but also use older style utility trailers with four pin plugs also. The suspension springs and high ground clearance are incredibly awesome. These trucks come standard issue with a higher ground clearance than many Chevy or Ford Trucks after they have been modified with a lift kit. The tail pipes for the Cummins diesel also allow a ton of air in and out of the engine to make for a huge amount of power, great fuel economy and also that super macho diesel growl that sounds just as powerful and potent as these trucks really are. The truck handles great in snow and ice and also does real well hauling firewood where there isn't a road at all. I am looking for a little commuter car now rather than a big hauling contractor's truck, so my loss is your gain. Call me if you have any questions. I'll be happy to answer them if I can. You are also welcome to come give the truck a test drive. I have excellent feedback selling lots of high dollar items like movie cameras and sailboats and stuff so bid with confidence. However, don't bid more than you have ready on hand to pay. I need to be paid within 24 hours, no exceptions, so I can go shopping for a smaller economy car. Do not bid unless you are absolutely certain your wife with allow you to buy a new truck and don't bid more than you can afford to pay within 24 hours. I don't want to take payments or wait days or weeks for you to pay. Your bid is a legally binding contract to purchase this truck, so if you have any doubts about buying it you need to come up and give it a test drive before you place your bid rather than after. I will accept cash or money order or wire transfer, but I only take checks after they have cleared the bank. I also will take Paypal if you want to use a credit card, but Paypal charges me 2.9% so that amount will be added to your purchase price if you want to pay with that method. Truck comes with a clear Colorado Title and a bill of sale. It is located in Stone Ridge, New York, about an hour and a half north of New York City. If you pay for the truck within 24 hours but live somewhere far away I'm fine with you picking it up later. You can keep it parked here for up to a month free of charge, but only if it is paid for in full within 24 hours. I will send the title and bill of sale to you with a tracking number as soon as it is paid for, but if possible picking the truck up in person is really the best way to go. THIS AUCTION CLOSES MONDAY NIGHT NOVEMBER 12th at 10 PM EASTERN TIME ZONE. If you want to win the auction make sure you get your best bid in early or set your alarm and tune in for the final few minutes of bidding. IF YOU TAKE CARE OF THIS TRUCK, IT WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU. I Hope it goes to a good home. Call to schedule a test drive or with any questions. William (347) 675-5062 On Nov-11-12 at 18:31:41 PST, seller added the following information: I've had a couple of people ask me in the questions about whether the engine has any blow by. Sadly I had to reply that my Diesel Engine IQ isn't deep enough to know what that means or how to test for it. However, after I answered those questions I got curious myself to learn something new and got on Google and did some searching. I found a great video on YouTube about what causes Blow By and how to test for it really easily by looking for vapors coming out of the oil fill cap while the engine is running. So of course I had to go out to the truck and conduct a test for myself. They say Cummins Diesels normally will have a tiny bit of blow by when they are started cold because the aluminum pistons are smaller than the cylinder walls to compensate for the fact that aluminum expands more when it heats up than steel does. The truck was pretty cold when I started it. Haven't driven it for about three hours. And after ten minutes watching the open oil fill cap for any signs of vapors and also conducting the test of putting the cap on loose and seeing it it has a "Tea Kettle" effect I am happy to announce that this truck seems to have ABSOLUTELY NO BLOW BY as well as I am able to determine, even when starting from cold. But I do know it is a very strong and happy engine in all other ways so that is mostly what I would expect to find. The amount of sludge in the oil when I change the oil is only a very small fraction of the amount I am used to seeing in the oil from other cars I have owned, so that is also a good sign that points to several hundred thousand more miles of good driving left in this engine. To everyone who asked those questions, thanks for helping me increase my diesel engine IQ and sorry I responded to you before I knew how to conduct the test. Search for the Diesel Engine Blow By Test Video by the experts at Diesel Giant on YouTube and Google. DieselGiant.com Its a cool video and a really easy test to conduct. Learn something every day!! The test they conducted was even done on a Dodge Cummins Diesel 2500. Gotta love it!!! I've been a Chevy and Ford guy my whole life till I bought this truck, and I tell you what, from now on its only Dodge's for me--Better Truck--Better Price--Gotta Love it!!
