I would rate the exterior of this car a solid "8" on a scale of 1-10. There are a couple of small blemishes, rock nicks and a few barely noticeable bubbles in the paint on the top corner of the hood and rear decklid near the badge. The fabric on the soft top is in excellent original condition though the rear window is yellowed. The chrome looks to be all original and in quite good condition still. The alloy wheels are pretty faded original withonly decent rubber. This always California car is superbly dry, clean and rust-free structurally! Overall I would call this a very nice presentable driver-quality example offered here at a very low price! THE INTERIOR The interior of this 35 year-old Benz is in QUITE GOOD CONDITION overall. The red leather on both the front and rear seats is in VERY good condition as are the carpets, door panels and headliner on both hard and soft tops. The dash has a few heat cracks, the a/c is not blowing cold, the CD stereo works well, the cruise control is inop, the six-digit odometer works, the heat works as do all of the lights, foglights, blinkers, horn, gauges and electric windows. THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE This 450 starts, runs, shifts and brakes fairly well! I would liken the experience to putting on a favorite pair of well-worn and very comfortable Cole Haan shoes! The engine runs decent with a slight exhaust manifold flutter with still decent power. The transmission up and down shifts well while sometimes a tad bit lazy off the line! The brakes have good stopping power with good pedal feel. The suspension is a bit tired with a stillc omfortable solid ride. The exhaust is quiet through the tailpipe. THE DETAILS AND $$$$$$ 1.
