You buy it cause it is the smoothest folding top convertible there is and also you just dont want to have the same run of the mill BMW 650 or Lexus SC that your junior manager have. This says you got the corner office and not afraid to enjoy it!Now on to the good stuff!!! 600HP at 5000 rpm good for limited 198mph, 750 lbs of torque at 3500 rpm good for 0-60 in about 3.5 seconds! Custom rear spoiler, engine ECU and intake by Carlsson of Germany( $9000 ) is the culprit of these magnificent achievements. Carlsson is one of the most respected Mercedes tuners from Germany along with AMG, Renntech and Brabus. One of the best known product they have is a super strong one piece high polished forge aluminum wheel which has the reputation of being the absolute lightest wheel for the SL, and we got them on this car too..cost over $15000 for just the wheels and tires. And speaking of tires, the rear have been increased to 305 as oppose to the 285 factory version in an attempt to aid in keeping contact with mother earth. But when you have bigger wheels and tires they tend to rub when the car turns sharp or brakes hard, that is why this car is also fitted with a custom ride height system that Carlsson developed . It will lower the car at stand still but when it senses any body movement it will raise the correct amount to clear the wheels so as not to scuff the tires and rims. This is the only system in the world and it is calibrated to the exact body lean, wheel and tire size and amount of down force experienced, sure it cost a bundle but it works!!! Also aiding control is the pizza size 14.2 vented front disc with 8 piston caliper , this can stop the earth from rotating!!!These gorgeous wheels are in perfect shape due to the ride height system. The entire conversion is almost $30000 and the ECU andTCU andabc computerhad to be sent to Germany for reprogramming. So there we have it, this will run all day with the Sl65( actually the SL65 is limited to 155 top speed and this is limited to 198!)but with more personality and a lot sexier look too. Did i mention exclusive? Yes just a few hundred SL600 are made by Mercedeseach year and according to Carlsson only 5 SL600 in the U.S are Carlsson modified. AMG got nothing on this baby and with just 13000 miles, it is not even broken it yet. Also this car will qualify for aftermarket warranty and due to the extreme low mileage, the cost is minimal.Vehicle has gone thru our complete service and detail process that include top to bottom inspection by Mercedes dealer, all maintenance service performed, wheels aligned and balanced plus all exterior and interior rejuvenated to new condition. This is not your average SL600, this is one of the rare cars out there that will run all day with the likes of Lamborghini and Ferrari but with the comfort and reliability of a Mercedes.
