Vehicle Detail
This is a very rare 1965 Ranchero Deluxe that came from the factory with a 225hp A code 289 4V, 4speed transmission and a super rare 3.00 Equalock 8" rearend. Originally dark green, now medium blue, black bench seat interior. Deluxe model came with extra chrome on the exterior and upgraded interior including padded dash and deluxe door panels. Body is very straight and there is almost no rust except for a couple bubbles in the right quarter. The car was in Eastern WA (dry climate) for most of its life which is why it is so solid. Sold frame rails, torque boxes, cowl, quarters, tailgate, bed and doors. It does have some rust in the front floors along the ouside edges and the rear floors behind the seat have rust. Front bumper is bent but there grill and bumper filler panel are straight. Side chrome is nice, rocker trim has dents. There are wrinkles in the front inner fenders and they should probably be replaced. Shock towers, frame etc all look good. Paint job is cheap and old but is very presentable other than below gas filler. The interior is pretty much shot and will need the usual, headliner, carpet, door panels, dashpad and the seat will need to be rebuilt and recovered. This Ranchero has been off the road for several years but the engine is strong with no smoke or noise and excellent oil pressure. It could use a carb rebuild but the motor is strong with Edelbrock intake, Holley carb, headers and a mild cam. Brakes are bad and will need to be redone before it can be driven but I did take it down an old country road and went through all the gears. Transmission, Hurst shifter and clutch work well. Turn signals, heater and wipers all work. Brake light switch is stuck so lights stay on. I unplugged switch so battery does not drain. Has dual exhaust that was cut hehind headers for some reason but full exhaust is still there and just needs to be welded back up. With a brake job, tires, a brake light switch and exhaust repair this could be on the road again. Car is for sale as is where is. It is available for inspection by appointment. No warranty expressed or implied. I have done my best to describe the car but please understand that it is nearly 50 years old and needs restoration work. $500 deposit due within 2 days of auction end, full payment within 7 days of auction end.
