I have a very nice old 1950 Packard Sedan straight 8 that needs TLC. I'm at the age where I just don't want to do this anymore. Here is the condition: PAINT: Poor. Not bad from 20 feet, but I think it was a cheap backyard paint job. INTERIOR: This is pretty good. The headliner has darkened, but when I pulled back the custom seatcovers that have been on the car since it was new, the seats looks brand new. I replaced the driver's door panel, and it matches the other three doors very nicely.Dash is very nice too. I'd say that the headliner is the only thing you would want to replace. GLASS: All good. I've replaced the cracked glass in the driver's door. CHROME: Some is nice, some needs to be replated. BODY: Appears to be a good solid tight body. I can't see where it has ever had any rust, except for a couple of very small places under the front fenders. Rocker panels are ok, and a replair has been made to the floor pan on the driver's side. ELECTRICAL: EVERYTHING WORKS; Headlights, parking lights, tail lights, brake lights, license lights, dome lights, courtest lights, glove box light and dash lights. ENGINE: A good tight quiet running solid straight 8. Runs great at highway speeds. (I didn't go very far because of the poor tires) TRANSMISSION: OK OVERDIRVE. Nees to have a bad cable replaced. STEERING: Strong and tight. ENGINEW Dept. Needs to be detailed and painted. Nothing seem to be missing making it a very complete auto.
