For auction we have a 1983 Mini which I purchased myself on ebay for something to enjoy . What I can tell you is I have spent approx $3000 on having work done to it so she is a fun running and driving vehicle, the body is in great shape in my opinion, there does not appear to be any rust on the car including the undercarriage . the sills are rust free as is the bottom pans , the battery box which is a common area for these to rust is aslo rust free . I purchased the 4 new wheel rims a few months ago, the exhaust is also new and I had the car painted black, it was originally black and the pictures do ot do the paint work justice, it looks better in person in my opinion, it was painted in a professional autobody shop in a booth and the black is the same as the black used in the late model Jaguars as I own a black one and wanted the mini the same color. There is no rust in the lower rocker panels nor on either the front or back bumpers, they are both rust free . The interior is in good overall condition, the carpet is in good shape, the headliner is in good condition, there is one split in the stitching on the rear seat hardly noticeable and it took me a few months before I even noticed it . The engine starts on the key quickly every time and runs well as this is a fuel injected model, this Cooper has the newer brake booster system with rotors up front . Overall she is a great and fun little car there are a few issues though, they have not bothered me but I want there to be no misunderstanding . Firstly the gear shift is sloppy not stiff that being said I have no trouble shifting between gears and it was like that when I purchased it and I find it easy to drive . occasionally the flashers do not work , they seem to have a mind of there own again it really has not bothered me and the speedo has been the same . I have driven I would say a total of 500 fun miles .
