ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS FACTORY - CITRUS GREEN 1970 & a half TRUE CHEVEROLET CAMARO RS {Z/28 TRIBUTE}! DAWNED IN 2012 CAMARO SYNERGY GREEN!!! BEAUTIFULLY RESTORED! FACTORY POWER STEERING, POWER DISC BRAKES - A/C CAR! What do you call a “1st” year “2nd” generation split bumper factory RS yet Z/28 tribute car dawned in 2012 Camaro Synergy Green? You may not know exactly what to call it but, everyone who has laid their eyes on it calls it absolutely AWESOME! (the pervious listing was ended thanks in part to certain forbidden phrases or key words. however, the serious interested buyer should feel free to call 314-497-9470, to work on putting this dream car in your garage). I am a bit hard pressed for words as I try to relate just how special this particular ROCK SOLID Camaro is to me, {& apparently everyone else}! I have been in the collector car hobby for years. However, I just can’t seem to recall any muscle car that I have owned that receives the accolades that this Camaro does! All things being equal I guess 1st I’d like to state the obvious: “This gorgeous RS split bumper Camaro is absolutely amazing”!!! It happens to be the ultimate crowd pleaser! I am always overwhelmed by the amount of attention that this car seems to attract. NEVER A DULL MOMENT! When this beautiful bow tie hits the street everyone tends to take notice! You can’t take this car out anywhere and “I mean anywhere” without attracting a crowd! This particular 1970 RS is a great representation of what Chevy thought the buying public would want to stay satisfied after the previous year’s model success. Delayed production in 1970 led most to designate the early manufactured Camaros as a 1970 & a half model. What ever you may want to classify them as they’re some of the most well built Camaros that ever left the assembly line! This specific car has only had two previous owners. The vehicle itself was manufactured in Los Angeles. It was actually sold new at Harbor Chevrolet in Long Beach CA. The car was driven home {by the original owner} to Los Angeles were it remained until 1982. This individual was a well known lawyer in that town. He owned two other Camaros {A 1967 RS & 1967 Convertible} and seems to have cherished them all. When he began to sell some of his toys years later I was told that this one was the last car to go. He seems to have admired this one most. It was subsequently sold to the second owner {who lived in Bakersfield CA.} in the spring of 1982. This owner & his family absolutely loved the car! They had many fond memories of this car and shared quite of few with me. However after 20 plus years of ownership & kids that once rode in the back seat now going off to college “The time to sell the car had come”. I would like to take a moment to state that “You will have to search high & low for a more RUST FREE classic Muscle Car than this California cruiser”!!! SUPER SOLID RUST FREE INVESTMENT GRADE VINTAGE VEHICLE! This car was once featured in a local township news cover letter {in 1988}. To see the car in person is to LOVE it! It is a factory {43 code Citrus green} vehicle. However now as you can clearly see the cars character has changed a bit since she left the factory! The vehicle is still a true Chevy green car theoretically. Nonetheless, saying the colors a shade different from the Citrus green that it was born with in 1970 “would be the under statement of the year”! The paint on this classic Chevy is very smooth. It is extremely radiant & it shines brilliantly at any given time of day! To be honest the paint even looks electric at night! The second owner said at some point during the fifth year of ownership his wife backed the car out of the garage and slightly dented the driver’s quarter {the only incident that the car has ever been involved in….amazing}! All of the body panels to the car are original. The second owner had a serious desire to paint the car for a few years. However the wife supposedly would never sanction it. It was not deemed as something that absolutely had to be done. That little garage incident however seems to be the straw that broke the camels back! Although the bruised area wasn’t bad he said that it was the excuse he needed for painting approval. At that point he decided to give the car a much needed mid day make over. The way that he told the story was quite interesting. He recalled the moment when the car was actually being dropped off to have the work performed. He stated that his wife exclaimed “If you are going to paint that thing why don’t you get rid of the ugly green color”! She & the kids preferred red. As he explained “his hands were tied” the verdict was reached & it was painted that color. The car remained red for quite some time. However after 20 plus years he stated “The red paint had begun to lose its luster”. Fast forward two decades: In 2012 after falling madly in love with the new Camaros green paint scheme he decided that she was due for a paint job once more. He contacted a long time friend {retired GM body man Don} who had painted several classic cars before. He told Don how he thought about painting the car its original color {Citrus Green}. At the same token he explained how he had literally dreamed about having his favorite years model Camaro {1970} painted 2012 Synergy Green! Don couldn’t agree more with the second owner’s intuition so the prep work was started. Why I won’t go through a play by play on the details of what the painting process was {as most is hear say to me}. I think the end result speaks for itself! The car looks fantastic! To call it a head turner would be an insult! The car took 2nd place in a local car show in the 1970-1981 Camaro class earlier this year! A frame off restored {$50k 1970 Z/28} beat it out. While I won’t say that this car is a $50k vehicle I can say with certainty that it will hold its own at any venue {without the big price tag}. The black factory Rally racing stripes were carefully laid down when she was painted. The stripes are not gloss black {which wouldn’t be correct} they are matt black. Looks amazing! They really look incredibly fresh on this vehicle {it’s 1970 all over again}! The black & green contrast is quite striking AGAIN….MUST SEE TO APPRECIATE! The beautiful / straight body on this Camaro accentuates the paint very well. As previously mentioned the car is an accident free vehicle. Each body panels in great shape! Even before this car was painted there was no need to sound the alarm for ravaging rust or the bondo patrol. RUST FREE CALIFORNIA NATIVE! You could easily steal a judge’s heart at your local car show with this beauty. You could also make her your daily driver is so desired ….whatever you decide plenty of fun will be on tap! NO EXPENSE SPARRED!!! The front & rear chrome bumpers on the car don’t have a single scratch on them {brand new}! These bumpers are of the highest quality. They were actually ordered through a subsidiary of Johnny Londoff Chevrolet. Not like most of the cheap catalog bumpers that are used so often in today’s muscle car world. The front grill & grill support brace are new as well! Even the chrome grill surround molding is new {factory N.O.S specs}! Every single emblem is new! All of the factory original glass still looks incredible. There are no chips, imperfections or excess scratches to really speak of. The factory correct {TR-711} black vinyl seat upholstery is new “MINT condition”! There is not a single stitch that is out of place. New seat foam was installed when this vehicle interior was replaced {Done right}! Just about every interior upholstery piece was replaced around Sept. 2012! The check book was open wide open to make sure that the car was properly restored! NEW! NEW! NEW! As a matter of fact most of the original interior was still in decent shape when it was replaced {we just wanted to go the extra mile}. I even went as far to replace the center console {approx. $470. installed}. A new rear packing tray was installed along with a spank brand new radio for kicking tunes! JUST AS NICE INSIDE AS SHE IS OUT! We didn’t just stop there. This beauty has new carpet & a factory dash that was ordered & installed through the American Restorations Co. {approx: $1100}! You can expect to find a spank brand new mint headliner & sun visors in this Camaro along with new floor mats! After having such a great car I am already starting to have seller’s remorse. I know how hard it is to truly find a stand up vintage vehicle without any issues. The vehicle is in incredible shape from bumper to bumper! The door jamb, trunk & body weather strip moldings are new. The door glass window moldings were ordered but, they weren’t correct. I plan on having the new ones installed in a couple of days. I believe that the new potential owner will be more than happy with this particular bow tie! Now to the heart and soul of this Muscle car! Crack the lid & you’ll find a 350 engine under the hood of this Camaro that runs excellent! This muscle car will bark the tires at the given command! The engine looks as good as it runs! The block was rebuilt a few years ago. Although the displacement remains the same this muscle car had a major operation. She was bored 30 over & a new hot perfomance cam was installed! The car runs like its angry at the pavement! There was several other goodies installed but I can't say all that was done. They’re show quality valve covers adorning the engine bay along with a dual snorkel air cleaner! Gorgeous breather! There’s a spank brand new hood insulation pad that has been installed for safety. Upon further inspection you will also notice a healthy aluminum intake sitting a top the motor. The car has not hit the Dyno but, I would venture to say that she is easily pushing over 320 h.p. at the rear wheels! The blocks team mate happens to be the original 350 turbo transmission. It is brutally strong & will kick you in the pants if you get on it hard enough! “Complete Drive Trains in excellent shape”! It has an incredible sound to match its brute force! There’s a menacing almost big block style rumble purring out back by aid of chambered exhaust & performance muffles! This vintage RS is eager to run full throttle! Let’s listen: I have a good friend who owns a mint 1979 Trans Am with a factory 400 engine. He & several other muscle cars buddies of mine swear that this particular Camaro runs stronger that any other small block Chevy that they have ever come across! Believe they’re GREEN WITH ENVY!!! The surprising thing about this vehicle is just how dependable it is! You can jump in at any time and rely on her to start right up! She’ll get you where you need to go {hassle free}. The block has definitely been well cared for through the years. As a matter of fact there has also been a host of engine parts that have been replaced recently. Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, hoses, belts, brakes, alternator, starter, etc. Too many others parts to list! This Camaro may be located here in the Mid West but it can be driven back to your home state {even if that happens to be back in CA.}! The 350 Turbo Trans makes this Bow Tie an absolute blast to drive! Highway driving is a cinch {conventional gears} she’s very user friendly! I love cruising this car at 70 mph! This car handles very nice & corners with ease! Several suspension parts have been replaced as well. The factory Z/28 style Rally wheels are in excellent shape! They were professionally painted semi gloss black recently! They just so happen to be wrapped in spank brand new raised white letter performance tires with less than 25 miles on them! “Spank brand new Z/28 N.O.S wheel center caps with new chrome lug nuts are included”! There are more than a few good points that could be made about this particular RS. However the structural integrity of this car MUST be discussed! This subject pretty much brings us back full circle to the beginning of the ad. This Chevy has probably the most rock solid foundation, original frame, floors, trunk & rockers that I have ever seen {& I have seen many}! No goofy under coating to conceal rust issues. Rock Solid….Rust Free! There have been many people in the collector car hobby locally that seem to talk about the cars structure more than its appearance! Great car, great tunes, great time! Cold A/C and working heat is in great supply in this car also. Day in and out you will have inquiring minds wanting to know what year the car is & how long you’ve had it? Have you ever put it in a car show? And most of all “do you want to sell it”? The car is truly a conversation piece! GREAT INVESTMENT THAT YOU CAN ENJOY! WARNING! THIS CAMARO IS NOT FOR THE BASHFUL INDIVIDUAL! IF YOU’RE NOT A PEOPLE PERSON YOU BETTER STICK TO THE STATUS QUOA RED, BLUE & BLACK CARS ON THE ROAD! You’ll be constantly followed & questioned! I have set a reasonable reserve on this car. All inspections welcome. There has been a great deal of time & money invested in this vintage Chevy! NO DISAPPOINTMENTS! I HAVE NO TIME TO PLAY GAMES! BID ONLY IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT BUYYING. IT IS THAT SIMPLE! Call [314] 497-9470 or email any time. No trades. No low ball offers. DON’T MISS OUT ON THIS ONE. You’ll wish you didn’t!
