Vehicle Detail

I'm selling my trusty Volvo because I'm working from home these days, so I don't have a commute anymore. I bought it new in 2001, so it has had only one owner, and I've taken good care of it - getting regular oil changes and hand washing it. No one has ever smoked in this car, ever. This summer I had a new battery put in, and had the power steering fixed and the timing belt, serpentine belt, and water pump changed. It's running smooth and happy. I always take it to JK Volvo in Pasadena if you need a great mechanic. I get around 20 miles to the gallon in the city, 25 on the freeway. The air conditioning is nice and cold, although personally I like to drive with the moonroof open for the fresh breeze except for in this crazy heat of the summer here in Los Angeles. I drove this car for a few years in Princeton, New Jersey where I bought it, and it really handled the winter weather well, too - I drove on some awful icy roads and there was an anti-skid special feature ("stability control") that kicked in on turns. I'm sure that saved my bacon a few times. I got the "cold weather package" so it came with a lot of bells and whistles. It doesn't get so cold here, but I do still like the heated seats. There are heated mirrors, too, for frosty mornings. If you are interested in power, it still has good "get up and go." I don't know if I have a lead foot or what, but I'm usually the one who gets out in front at green lights. Maybe everyone else is still sleeping or texting. It's a good looking car, too - so many people mistake it for the BMW M3, it's kind of funny. I'd never spend that much on a car, but I do love the way this Volvo looks. Because it is 11 years old, my car has some superficial age spots. There are places where the paint is scratched from driving next to the bushes along my driveway (please see pictures, especially the close-ups) and the right rear-view mirror outer casing fell off last year (it still works, though!). Inside, the tan leather is starting to crack in places. Some of the cosmetic plastic pieces inside, like the cover to the cup holder, are starting to break. This is normal wear for a car this age. You can get replacement parts, or you can drive a comfortably "lived-in" car like I did. When I took Drivers' Ed, my parents asked my driving instructor what car he recommended for all his students. Volvos! he said. They are the safest car out there, and they hold their value. Since then, I have only bought Volvos. I like this review from "AutoMedia. " When this car came out, they said "The new Volvo S60 deserves a serious look. Consider this a BMW that isn't fearful of winter or, if you'd prefer, a Mercedes-Benz that won't send you directly to the poor house." http://www.automedia.com/2001_Volvo_S60/rts20001101v6/1 I'm setting the reserve price to the quote a local dealer gave me on my car. I figure they would turn around and sell it for quite a bit more. This way, we both win! $500 deposit payment by PayPal within 48 hours of winning the auction, remainder by cash or cashier's check. You, the buyer, will arrange for pickup/delivery of the vehicle. Thanks for your interest!
