They say that most accidents happen a mile from home. Well this find was no accident and it was less than a mile from home. We had loaded our faithful pooch in the convertible and gone in search of retail therapy. On the used market, that is. Well we stumbled upon this nice lady at a yard sale late in the afternoon. Turns out we weren't the only ones to inquire about this sleeping beauty. Car folk before us had left names and numbers as well. Leave it to us to get a courtesy call through to the owner and a deal sealed late in the day. Once again we called the amigos to tow this baby home from its 30 year slumber, no regrets. Well, car nuts, the body is good on this one. It's amazing how you never notice a certain model until you own one. I've seen this model 3 times now in the last 7 days and they have grown on me. This is a regal automobile in its original splendor. The splendor that you see here is not that splendid. What we have for you is a good old original that going to need a ton of TLC and a wallet full of love. No free lunch here folks. You're going to have to work for this one a little. Things went fairly straightforward & we got it to run briefly. It shot a bunch of rust particles & white smoke out of the tailpipe. The GT actually ran smoothly, with no discernible knocks or hesitation. Getting it to idle is another matter. Stay tuned. Harris.
