1970 1600-2 project car NOT RUNNING . Will need some "mechanical overhaul" . ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Added 10/28... the car is NOT RUNNING and NOT DRIVABLE anywhere. The car NEEDS TO BE TOWED or transported. I am not in the car transport business. I do not know any car-haulers and I don't know how much it would cost to transport the car but If I had to guess I would say that ;;;; it's expensive. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IMPORTANT: this car must be picked-up and removed from the premises on or before Wednesday Novemember 14. No repair work can be done at this property. If you need more time arrangements please contact me BEFORE BIDDING and I could offer you one option (and not too costly) for short extension. There are CONDITIONS LISTED BELOW which must be followed or the vehicle will be promptly offered to any underbidders... or relisted....as I am losing my storage space. California car. I purchased in Nov. 1997 but I never registered the car. It was trucked from CA to RI by a friend earlier in 1997 and he drove it for several Summer months. There is and was NO TITLE issued by Rhode Island. I have ONLY the registration issued by RI in 1997. This should be sufficient for many States but please know your own State's laws concerning antique vehicles before bidding. The car has been stored for 15 years in dry building. I HAVE NOT STARTED the car in 10+ years. It was running and driving when I first parked it. Sold AS-IS. 42 years old....Quite original and nearly complete. The odometer reads 37,304. Actual miles = 137,034? ...or 237,034?? ..or more??? If you are looking for this type of early model THIS IS THE CAR. MISSING the original brown SEATS, carpet set, the SEAT BELTS and the rear interior shelf/deck cover. There is a nice black (front) and blue (rear) seat set which is included with the sale. One front seat in in two pieces and needs to be assembled. Great grilles, nice bumpers ,chrome and glass. Flush Euro-style directionals. Nice door panels with no speaker holes. Check out the mini center console with Blaupunkt radio. SOLID, SOLID, SOLID.... shock-towers, rocker panels, floors, front cowl, firewall- heaterbox tray area, pedal box, trunk floor. The doors close properly, The windows roll-up tight and evenly. The door & trunk key-locks turn like butter. Matching numbers on Engine block , steering wheel pad , underhood stamping and on ID plate. VIN 1570205 1980's Momo black leather-wrapped wheel. Retains all of the under-the-dash cover panels. BAD: small rot hole in spare-tire-well, Rust area on rear chrome bumper, Stuck right brake caliper (I had to remove the brake-pads to roll the car). Clutch Slave Cylinder leaking , Two rips/holes in headliner. The rubber door seals dry-rot. Crush/dent at-around left tail-light area (my fault! happened while pushing). The dashboard has a few cracks.. Was repainted sometime during it's life. The Glove box not original and detached. I have owned 5 old BMWs and this car is a real GEM.
