Vehicle Detail
Up for your consideration today is my very special 1962 Buick LeSabre 2 door sedan. This is a very rare car with total production figures of just 7418 compared to the 25,479 2 door hard tops, and over 90,000 4 doors! This car only has an actual 62,000 plus miles put on her since 1962. Most were driven prior to 1985. I really dont have any original paperwork with this car other than the title with the original owners, and second owners name on it. I also found an original 1962 Buick brochure with the different models and options listed in it. This car is a true survivor! It retains its original drive train, interior, and almost all of its factory applied paint. I see a bit of paint work on the passenger side fender area.It must of been done several years ago because it still matches the shine of the rest of the car. This car has its share of paint chips and minor dings and scratches. But still a very straight original very clean car. I cannot bring myself to repaint this car.The factory color is called Desert sand. The original patina is testament to the originality of this car. This car is 50 years old and very nice for its age. There is no rust in this car. Just "road rash" from gravel roads. The trunk has been used. Its still nice but has stains here and there on the cloth floor covering. The jack is very nice and it has its original "used" spare tire. I bought this car from the original owner’s neighbors who’ve had it since 1985. They put maybe 5,000 miles on it! This has always been a rural Nebraska small town driven car. Always garaged and never abused. Its been very well kept since it was new.The interior has to be seen to be believed! A seat cover protected the front seat from wear. I took it off and its perfect! Never re-upholstered. Buick calls it a “Fawn” color. With the salt and pepper colored carpet. The carpet, dash, headliner, seats, door panels, rear package deck are in remarkable condition. On a scale of 1 to 10 the interior is a true 10! The power train of this car is a 401 2 barrell V8, Wild cat 375. This engine is quite rare due to it being a special order, no cost option in 1962. The "Wild Cat 375" represents the torque rating. It was an engine that didn’t require premium fuel. It used regular. It has the 2 speed automatic Turbine Drive. The reverse is the bottom selection of the gear pattern. The engine compartment is original and could use detailing. But still...its real clean under there. Mechanically I have performed the following: New tires, battery, also new wheel cylinders with brake hoses, plugs, wires, cap, rotor. The timing and points all set to almost perfection. You will be amazed how well this car runs and drives. Very solid, tight, and quiet. The car is a "Plain Jane"! It does not have power steering or brakes. No radio, clock, air conditioning. YES NOTHING! In a BUICK! It’s got to be one in a million! Those post cars were price leaders or basic factory sleepers! This one is kind of both! It will run when you get her rolling. I have also hired a body shop to perform a clay bar, buff and polish. The paint is factory lacquer and the shine is still very good. Upon real close inspection in the right lighting conditions you can see lacquer imperfections. But still is a very beautiful car. This car still has 3 of the original T-3 Head lights in her. The chrome is outstanding, glass is very good. all the stainless on the car is perfect. The bumpers are beautiful. The rear lights and housings are excellent as well as the head lights and grill areas. I have added a "buy it now" if youd like to purchase it now and not wait until the auction ends and lose out on this one of a kind car. The car is underpriced in my opinion. You cannot duplicate this car. And in the classic car world today ...what does anything under $20K buy you? You are welcome to come see the car or have some one you trust look at it for you. Please have this done prior to the auctions end. The car is sold as is and I am possession of its title. Also have funds available prior to bidding. 0 Feedback, negative feed back or out of the country members must contact me first before bidding. I love to talk cars…but please…be serious, qualified and able to buy if interested in bidding. I am a short distance off I-80 in Omaha Ne. I will assist in loading the car with a trucking company at the winning bidder’s expense. You will love this car as I did when I first seen it. Questions? Call me any time 402 659 1118 Bernie Thanks!
