Ok folks. Up for sale is a super nice Cross Country Wagon, All Wheel drive, Automatic, 176,000 miles, strong quiet engine. Unfortunately, its has transmission issues. The car would run fine until heated up and then won't move. A friend recommended me to a local transmission shop, where I took the car in for repair. $1800 later, transmission still doesn't work! Going thru small claims court to get refunded. Now it shifts 1st, 2nd, and when it gets to 3rd, and 4th, the car shakes like the engine is about to fall out!! The shop claims they installed all new internal parts and seals, but still can't get tranmission working properly. I was told by a Volvo technician that the rebuilt transmission has to be programmed to the car's computer system, or else it will never run well. Therefore if a repair shop doesn't have the proper computer software, rebuilding is of no good. I'm in no way implying this is the case, but its a possibility. Could be a simple correction to get car running again or have transmission replaced or rebuilt by someone who knows how to work on Volvos. I have no more money and time to put into this car so I'm letting it go. Reserved price has been set low for quick sale. The car can be seen anytime in South River, NJ by appointment prior to end of auction. I reserve te right to end auction early because the vehicle is also listed locally for sale.
