Vehicle Detail
Mustang fastback restoration project - no reserve. Very solid car underneath with loads of work already done. The 289 engine, automatic tranny, and 5 lug suspension means you can build most anything with this car. This car started off life as a sort of aqua blue car (can see the overspray inside near the window pillers) and was more recently painted to look like a GT350 Hertz clone. I was going to stay with the GT350 look and maybe race it but just haven't had time to continue on with what the previous owner has done on the car. The car had already been patched when I received it so the rear frame rails look solid, the floors and front frame rails, shock towers, radiator supports also all look solid. They also added nice custom subframe connectors that add strength to these unibodies. It doesn't look like they finished patching the rockers. As you can tell, the drivers side rear outer rocker needs some patching. If I were keeping it I would strip it down to bare metal (have the car dipped) and do any remaining fixes. Both doors have new lower door skin patches on them which is nice but are missing the glass. The rear quarters, trunk lid and drivers side front fender will need some body work. The hood is new. The front aprons were replaced including the drivers side with the vin. There are rusted numbers on the rear pass side apron where it looks like the last six digits of the vin are there. The original tag is on the door. Overall it’s a real solid start. The last owner stripped the car down to have the welding work done. What you see if what you get as far as parts with the exception of a few trim pieces that I have that aren’t pictured. The car has a rear sway bar in it now but can be removed if you want to go original. The headliner needs replacement because it has a rip in the back corner. The car rolls freely but the brakes and engine are not hooked up so it can't be driven home- selling as a non-running project car. The auction forced me to select a "clear" title, but I am selling the car as is where is with only an Official State of CT bill of sale form CT H-31 - there is no title. CT doesn't have titles for cars this old so that’s all the paperwork you will be getting so verify it's ok with your local registry before you bid. Deposit of $150 due within 48 hours of auction close with full payment due within 7 days of auction close. The car will be released with the paperwork when the payment is cleared. Sell to continental US only. Pick up must be done within 2 weeks of auction close. Please ask me any questions before bidding.
