Vehicle Detail

You are viewing a very rare "California Black Plate" example of a 1962 Giulia Sprint 1600 101 Normale. Type 101.12 - Vin # AR 352826. Body # 6525471. Engine number: AR 00112*00608. 1974 California Black Plate TBH-346, with the original California "Pink Slip". Odometer reads 65,378 miles. It came from the long time owner's estate. It was purchased by a US Serviceman while stationed in Italy, and then was shipped back to California where it has spent it's entire life. It was only driven for only 14 years before being put into storage. Please read the entire detailed description completely prior to bidding. I will be adding additional pictures this weekend. I received the following email from Alfa Romeo archives: with reference to your request we are informing you as follows. According to our documentation files, the chassis number AR 352826 originally corresponds to an Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint (101.12) USA, manufactured on the 1st October 1962 and sold on the 4th October 1962 to an American customer in the USA base of Sigonella, Siracusa, Italy. The body colour is Alfa red. Yours, Sincerely, Marco FazioThis Giulia represents an excellent restoration opportunity for the Alfa enthusiast that appreciates the beauty of this rare Bertone Coupe. As you can see it is an all original California Black Plate example that has been stored for many years. The restoration had been started many years ago with a complete engine rebuild and more recently repair of both doors and trunk floor. Giulia and Giulietta Sprints are becoming some of the most sought after Alfas in the last few years. This Bertone Coupe has beautiful lines at every angle, as you can see i in the pictures. With market values continuing to appreciate, this would make a great restoration/investment opportunity for the next owner. The reserve has been set low. The body is very solid with all original rocker panels and floors. No dents on the body. Inner rocker panels are in very good original condition as shown in the pictures. Driver's side rear floor is soft and will need repair. The rest of the floors are solid and all original. The trunk floor has been repaired and just needs a little bit of finish work. Both the lower portion of the left and right doors had rust cut out and new metal welded in. I have both the stainless steel trim pieces for both the doors that are included. Has all original bumpers and side grills. The front bumper is not mounted - needs work on the threaded portion of the mounts. Has new tail light lenses. Fitted with the original wheels & hubcaps & shift knob. The interior is in essentially all original and looks to be pretty much complete. Has factory radio block off plate. All gauges are in good shape. All window cranks and door handles are present. Seats are in good shape, but the padding is dried out. The headliner is dried out and has shrunk and completely ripped in the back. It will need to be replaced. All glass is in good shape including the windshield. The rear shelf is rusted and will need to be replaced. Has the original steering wheel that is in good condition. The engine had been rebuilt many years ago, when I pulled the plugs I could see the brand new pistons/liners that had been installed during the rebuild. Under the cam cover, it's all fresh as well. I have added pictures that show these new parts. The engine has been oiled and rotated, but never fired up. Has a new clutch disc and new transmission mount. The gas tank was removed when the trunk floor was repaired, and has not been installed. The gas tank is in good condition with no visible rust on the outside. To get it running, it will need all new coolant/heater hoses. Gas tank installed. Exhaust system & generator installed to name a few. Known issues: Missing 2/3(middle) portion of the exhaust manifold. Missing headlight trim rings & headlight mounts. Gas tank, Generator & gas tank not installed. Rear parcel shelf is rusted and needs to be replaced. Headliner torn and needs to be replaced. Missing wiper blades & trunk chrome & air filter assy. Front bumper not mounted. As stated the Giulia Sprint has been in storage since 1974 and was only on the road for 12 years. It comes with the original California Black Plates and the original California "Pink Slip" which gives this Sprint some wonderful history for it's next owner/caretaker. As stated, this is a wonderful opportunity to restore it back to it's original glory. It's an extremely solid example and will make a great foundation for a very straight forward restoration. Every angle you look at the Sprint shows what a wonderful design it is, and is truly a work of art. The Sprints are appreciating nicely, and are very hard to come by especially in un-restored condition as this Alfa is. I have done my best to describe the Sprint to the best of my ability, but may have missed something. If there is something you are not clear about, do not hesitate to contact me.
