Vehicle Detail
Here is one of the nicest sidecar rigs you will find. Loaded with extras. The sidecar is a 2005 Motorvation Spyder sidecar with all chrome accessories and as you can see, custom paint. The bike is set up for a sidecar rig with a 6 degree rake triple trees for easier steering. (not shown is a painted to match steering stabilizer). Car tire was installed for longer tire life. Powerlet plugs for battery charger and accessories. Dual Exhaust, carburetor mixture tuner. As you can see, this rig has always been garaged and pampered. A new sidecar like this one is priced at $5,199 plus $175.00 for the cover, $85 for seat belts, $1099 for color matched paint, $199 for steering damper, $225 for wrap around windshield (not shown), $349 for Brooklands windscreen. So, just the price of a new sidecar like this one would be....$7331.00!!! Nada Average retail for a 2003 Honda VTX with aftermarket exhaust and saddlebags is $4888.00. (That is without the windshield and temp gauge and clock and driving lights and chrome grab rail and not shown is the passenger seat and backrest and luggage rack). We know this isn't a new sidecar, it is used so it has depreciated, so like most accessories, it should be worth half of new. So if we figure the bike is worth $4800 and the sidecar is worth $3600, the total price should be $8,400.00. My reserve is less than that. There are a couple of things that need attention. The front exhaust needs a new gasket. It needs a new exhaust gasket and leaks some so it will backfire on deceleration from higher rpms. There is a very small indent on the top of the tank, so small that a camera couldn't show it. And there is a small chip in the paint on the underside of the sidecar. There is a tiny bit of rust on the front wheel but will clean up with some steel wool. All in all, it needs about $100.00 worth of repairs. I have 3 bikes and don't ride this one much so these little things weren't taken care of already.
