Vehicle Detail
*I am still in the process of cleaning the car up and taking photos as I go. Time is not on my side and the car needs a bit of cleaning. Photos are being added little by little so bear with me* This is a 1975 Monte Carlo Landau built here in Fremont California and has remained here since it was new. The Monte has been in my family for over 20 years, much of that time was spent in my Uncle's barn on non-op. My Uncle started the car every month or so to maintain the fluids and keep everything supple so it didn't just sit for years on end unattended to. This car, along with others, were investments for him. Some of the options this car has include the following: swivel bucket seats (black vinyl), factory console with floor shifter, 350 V8 4BBL, electronic ignition, power steering, power disc brakes, front/rear sway bars, plush black vinyl door panels and much more. The best part about this car is that it was never modified. No cd players, no exhaust or high-performance additions, never lowered or anything. This car is stock down to the A/C and smog equipment. If you are looking for a rust-free, virgin California car, this is the one for you. This car fires right up and idles nicely but will need some attention before being driven on the road (fluids/filters changed, carb and other small regular maintenance recommended). I would like to keep the car but I am more into pro-street type cars and would not want to modify a car this original. The biggest needs this car has are exterior-wise. The car needs a complete paint job no doubt. It also has some surface rust with pitts in small areas from where the vinyl top was (very common). There is no through-rust and there is also nothing serious. I brought most of the rust down with simple hand-sanding and am continuing to do so with each day as I find the time. The quarter panels are as solid as you're going to find as there isn't any rust issues and the same goes for the front fenders. As far as I can tell, there aren't and dings and certainly not any dents on any of the panels (there may be one that I missed but I haven't seen it yet). The wheels are tires in the pictures are not going with the car but can be had for an additional $200.00. They are super clean California Wheels turbine mags with 15" whitewall tires. These were bought new years ago and the car hasn't even been driven on these. Some of the other smaller issues include the interior needing some work. The seats should be re-covered as the driver's seat bottom has splits and the top of the back seat is sun-damaged and ripped. The rear speaker deck is missing the grills and speakers. The passenger side rear window was broken at one point and a replacement glass in sitting in the back. The hood latch receiver is broken and can be repaired before the car ships out. The car also has the original blue California plates that will go with the car if needed. Clean and clear pink slip in hand ready to go. For the California buyers, this car was last registered in 2006 and has back fees in the amount of 606.00 (I will subtract the back fees from the sale price for California buyers). My Uncle made the mistake of not getting the car back on non-op. For more information and to send any offers feel free to contact me at (209) 986-1975 and I am also selling the car locally. I can assist with shipping the vehicle in any way you may need just let me know. Thanks for looking and have a great week- On Oct-03-12 at 12:35:04 PDT, seller added the following information: I have continued to clean the car up and have polished the front and rear bumpers. I added a picture of the front bumper. Both bumpers are very clean and free of rust and dents. They polished out extremely easily and the bumper guards are also in great shape both front and rear. Please contact me to make any and all "buy it now" offers. The buy it now that I had set up disappeared after the first few bids so contact for more info. Also, if you are local I am interested in cash and trades. I'm into Camaro/Firebirds, Silverado, Tahoe, other pre-smog muscle etc etc On Oct-03-12 at 14:06:43 PDT, seller added the following information: I have also included a close-up photo of the roof area where the vinyl top was. There was a bit of surface rust that I brought down and removed out of the metal with wet/dry sanding and ultimately a thin application of naval jelly rubbed down with steel wool (this helped eliminate the rust out of the metal). Here you can see what the roof looks like BEFORE I apply the self-etching primer sealer. It is pretty clean and will need some quick prep work before painting. In the picture you can see the skim coat of bondo-type filler at the very bottom. This was done at the factory by General Motors on vinyl top cars as a way to fill in the quarter panel-to-roof pinch welds. Hardtop cars got lead or metal filler in these areas and the vinyl top got the bondo-type filler. This was verified on MonteCarloSS-
