Vehicle Detail

I am offering up for sale my 1971 CB350 resto-mod custom cafe project. In the interest of ensuring that bidders absolutely know what they are bidding on, please understand that this is a 40+ year-old bike and it will require some fiddling to enjoy it to the fullest. I have described the bike as accurately as possible, but it is not a new bike. Having said that I am not trying to scare anyone away, I'm just trying to be totally upfront. The Good - The bike was approximately a 15,000 mile example which I totally disassembled and rebuilt. The frame was blasted and repainted gloss black as were the wheels. It is fitted with new tires and tubes (Kenda front and Dunlop rear). The forks have been polished as have all the engine case covers. The front and rear brakes were disassembled, cleaned and reassembledwith any new parts needed. I am running 18" upswept meg mufflers and have installed a new mini LED speedometer from Dime City. New aftermarket coils and wires, also from Dime City, are used. The bike has a new ignition switch with two keys and has new points and condenser in place. I used Super Bike Bars with new rubber grips and reconditioned switches. It has new custom cables and new levers. Paint is two-tone red with silver accents and black custom made vinyl Honda emblem. All paint has had clear coat applied. Carbs have been rebuilt with all new jets and one new float. New gas cap on tank and new rear view mirror. When I disassembled the engine, I inspected it for wear and found that I could install new standard piston rings and that the valves were in good shape. Stainless steel hardware has been installed throughout. The clutch cover and chain guard have been drilled for a race look. I installed a new chain. The black seat cover is new and I used a new custom taillight from Dime City. No turn signals are currently used but the wiring is in place for them. New rectifier Oregon Motorcycles and billet aluminum drilled rear brake stay from Joker. Quick release gas line from Dime City cross over under tank. The Challenges - While the electric start works fine, it is noisy. Starters are readily available on eBay. The bike doesn't idle as well as I would like and increases in speed when hot. I'm told this is likely an air leak somewhere around the carburetors or weak advance springs. The bike starts and runs through all gears fine and pulls strong enough to scare ya. It just needs a new good home with an understanding and patient owner. Please feel free to ask questions before bidding. I will require $500 deposit at the immediate end of auction. I also reserve the right to end the auction at any time as the bike is also for sale locally. Buyer responsible for pickup and shipping costs. On Oct-02-12 at 05:27:03 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention that the kick starter works fine without making the noise the electric does and could of course, be used regularly. Also, the bike has a new battery and petcock.
