Vehicle Detail
1970 Mercury Cougar conv, dressed in Eliminator trim, 351 Cleveland automatic. Very nice car, have used it a couple times for parades, really eye-catching with the color sceme and spoilers, everybody loves it! Nice interior, seats are all mint, carpet and dash nice too, has some woodgrain trim and automatic on the floor. Top is not new, but in good shape, no holes, back window is hard plastic split style. Runs and drives excellent, very healthy motor, trans shifts nice, has power steering and brakes, very smooth and easy driving car. Body has no rust, and no dents, probobly had some bodywork years ago, but nothing you can see, looks arrow straight, paint is nice, again not "show" quality, but an expert would find small imperfectations...at the gas pumps she looks perfect though..Nice rubber front and rear, new shocks too---Starts right up, idles right (elec choke) and runs out strong, although it's due for a tune up, I have plugs, fuel filter, cap and rotor, but it is not installed. Has the parade boot, it does fit nice and snug, I just didn't have it all snapped in for the pictures. Trunk floor/rear end is perfect, underside/floorboards all super solid, but could use some light sheetmetal patch work due to rust...unibody frame rails all good, just the "extra" sheetmetal bracing the conv. has from the factory, and probobly light floorpan patches...perfectly drivable as it is, just not cosmeticlly perfect under there..(not covered up with 2" of undercoating over the ugly side like most of the "rotiserie" cars out there). can be restored as you drive it. Has hoodscoop, rear spoiler, and front lower spoiler from West Coast Classic Cougar, and of course the Eliminator stripes. I do have a very nice cover that goes along too. Has a power top, but it does not work (no idea why, just do it manually..1 person, easy) Bumpers are straight, front has great chrome, rear has some pitting in the sunlight. Everything works, lights, signals, brakes, battery, no mechanical problems that I am aware of, really a sweet weekend cruiser...turns heads!!! Clear title, take a look, ask me any questions, THANKS
