Finished in medium grey metallic over tan, this predescessor to the 3.0 sports the 170 horsepower 2.8 liter inline six cylinder engine with twin carbs mated to the factory three speed automatic transmission. Features include a nice set of period-correct 14" BBS gold center alloy wheels with excellent rubber, manual front windows, original brown loop carpeting, wood dash trim and updated cd stereo with rear deck speakers. I would rate the exterior of this car a "7" on a scale of 1-10. The repaint [originally sahara or nevada tan color I believe] shines nicely with a few blemishes and cracking and light bubbling on the rear decklid, the chrome bumpers look to be all original with a slight patina to the surfaces. This is a structurally RUST-FREE example with very good shock towers and solid floor pans. The trunk is in very good condition with original gray elephant skin panels. The tool kit is missing. There is some surface rust in the spare tire well. THE INTERIOR The interior of this little classic CS is in QUITE GOOD VERY ORIGINAL CONDITION overall. The carpeting is in very good condition, the original wood steering wheel shows some patina, the seat upholstery is quite good, there is some definite cracking and peeling to the wood trim. The CD stereo sounds very good. the original odometer is inop with a broken needle. The actual mileage is unknown. I am supplying a replacement odometer gauge with the car. The A/C does not blow cold and the two electric rear windows are inop. The lights and blinkers work, the horn is inop. The headliner is in very good shape with working dome light. THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE This 2800CS starts, runs and drives FAIRLY WELL! The engine is has good power with a slight valve lash noise, the transmission up and downshifts well and the steering is pretty tight and responsive. The braking is strong and straight and the suspension feels good with no noticeable clunks or rattles. Though not a perfectly restored example, this classic coupe is quite a joy to drive down the open road with its throaty dual carbs and oopen airy cockpit! THE DETAILS AND $$$$$$ 1.
