Vehicle Detail
1964 Oldsmobile cutlass 442. V8 engine, auto transmission( originally 4-speed). This is the first year of the 442 as a option. the original 4-speed was replaced by a automatic but the clutch pedal is still there. There is some rust around the wheel well lip you can see in the pics and a couple of small holes in the trunk that were patched, the body is straight with old paint, the interior needs carpet but the rest is ok, All of the trim and bumpers are in great shape. Runs and drives great w/ good tires and brakes. This is not a restored car but is a perfect candidate or enjoy it the way it is. Thanks for looking and good luck.On Sep-25-12 at 17:11:50 PDT, seller added the following information: there are some questions if this is a real 442, I will answer the best I can with the extensive research done. As we all know this was a option for 64 to be installed on option B 09 which was for police cars. from what I under stand In 64 options could be changed on the line and not always reflected on cowl tags and not all tags matched the vin.. Some say 442 were only built in one plant yet some have proof theres were built in others, So It would appear that there is not a absolute answer that I can find. So the next thing is to check for things we do know came on the 442, The original engine and trans is long gone but the 4 speed pedals are still there, it does have front and rear sway bars, It has the correct 442 badging on the front fenders( aft. market would have staggered bolt pattern and these are not) The rear deck lid has access holes for the 442 emblem others did not, the trans cross member has 2 humps for the dual exhaust, and there is a boxed lower trailing arm that was used on the 442. I would be a fool to say I know with certainty but the evidence suggests its real. I am no expert and welcome feed back. Thanks for looking.
