Emai: info@pedinila.com Buyer is responsible for pickup/shipment PROVENANCE- Pristine GB lived its first fifteen years in the private Illinois museum of the late Honda dealer Frank Cottrell. Bike sold by Cottrell family at private auction to a collector representing the Sun Valley Auto club and lived for several years in its second museum in Hailey ID. Sun Valley collectors sold the bike to me with only 984 miles on the odometer. Bike was immediately relocated to sunny Southern California where it has lived ever since earning 90% of its miles. WHITE BROS PERFORMANCE KIT- In 1990, White Bros- an aftermarket performance team, known for its line of dirt bike accessories, developed a very desirable and sought-after performance-kit upgrade for the GB.The first step was to increase the engine's size from 499 to 601cc's. A new Supertrapp exhaust, hotter camshaft any many other high-performance modifications followed!! The bike for sale has many of these popular performance/handling upgrades installed as well as all the factory OEM parts they replaced. Also included, are several original White Bros instruction materials, receipts and decals! GB 500 HISTORY-In the late 80's, Honda experimented with a number of unusual motorcycles. The GB500 Tourist Trophy was one. GB's were only imported to the US for two years, in 1989 and 90, in limited numbers with a vintage-inspired "cafe-racer" rear cowl and black/green metallic paint scheme with handsome gold pin-striping. By the time the new inventory was gone from Honda showrooms it had already become a true Cult Classic! The design used a 4-stroke dirt bike motor that was by that time already famous for its unbreakability. That thoroughly modern, four valve hemi single was wrapped in a vintage look tube frame and wire wheels, with what some consider to be the world's most beautiful gas tank!! The look is pure Cafe Racer while actually copying no vintage model. The Tourist Trophy name comes from the most famous road race of mid-century motorcycling, the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy competition. It was dominated for many years by single cylinder 500cc racebikes with quick steering and precise handling that the GB would emulate.
