Vehicle Detail
NO RESERVE!!!!!! Here's a slick, little 1968 Triumph 650 chopper. This bike has had a lot of work done to it over the years and it has a ton of new parts on it. It just needs a new home. I picked it up this summer and just have way too many other projects and bills. It looks and runs pretty good for what it is. It's actually pretty comfortable to ride too. It would make a fun bar hopper or just something to bomb around on. It's pretty flashy with the new, metallic blue paint. It gets a lot of attention everywhere it goes!! Here's the skinny on it from what I know...... FRAME: Custom, stretched, weld-on hardtail. Beautiful springer front (not sure of the make). It's tight and handles really well. New forward controls. Right hand shift, left hand brake. ENGINE: 650cc Triumph. It's titled as a 1968 off of the the engine number. I really don't know how many miles are on it for sure but I'm sure not too many since it was put together about 10 years ago. It smokes a small amount when you first start it if it's sat a while but clears up quickly. Yes...it does leak some when it sits a while. It starts easy on the first or second kick. It runs a ARD magneto. Has a new battery, regulator/rectifier, stator and clutch. It sounds great with the straight pipes but it would be simple to modify them from this point with some drag pipes and or mufflers. CARBURETORS: It runs factory, dual Amal carbs that have new air filters. The left one could use adjusted some as it's tough to get itto "tickle" (prime). Also, it's been fouling that plug as it seems to run a little rich. Both of the carbs have had recent work done to them but again, I think the left one could use cleaned and dialed in a bit better. ELECTRICAL: It's 12 volt and has all new wiring and lights. Headlight, taillight and brake light all work well. New battery. WHEELS/TIRES: Front is a Hallcraft hub with a 19" rim. No front brake The tire is not new but has 80% left on it. The rear is a Triumph hub witha 16" Harley rim. The rear tire is almost perfect. The rear has a brake but no front brake. The bike stops well as it's pretty light but it takes a bit to get used to not having a front brake if you are used to using one. MISC: New grips and 7/8 drag bars. Like I said before, it actually sits and rides pretty nice for what it is. I had this bike running perfect but then it's sat a couple of months and it's running rough again from the left side. I think it's issues with that carb and plug becuase it had been running great until it sat. It still starts and runs easy but needs to be dialed in a bit. It would take not much of anything to get this bike up to where it was a dependable, daily rider. Maybe just clean the plug and put fresh gas in it. I have a ton of reciepts for the work that's been done to it. It really is a good looking bike and would make a fun rider for the right person. It's an old, hardtail Triumph with no front brake and a spring frontend so don't expect it to ride like a new one!! It is what it is, nothing fancy but good old '70's style Triumph goodness!! I wish I could keep it as it is a good one that's had a lot put into it. iT JUST NEEDS TO BE RIDEN MORE AND LOVED!! Bid to win but if you have less than 5 feedbacks or a pile of negatives, I will cancel your bids. Contact me first. I can store the bike for up to a month as long as it'spaid for. $500 deposit within 24 hours and balance due within 72 hours of auction closing. I can help work with your shipper if you arrange all of that. *********I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION EARLY AT ANYTIME!!!!******** Check out my 1977 Ironhead For sale too!!!On Sep-28-12 at 07:09:19 PDT, seller added the following information: PLEASE NOTE!!!!! ****** I was working on the bike last night and the main throttle cable came apart at the "Y" junction where it runs a cable to each carb. I will include a new one with the bike or take off the price of a new cable assembly and carb rebuild kit for the left carb, from the final auction price.*******
