Vehicle Detail

Do to health problems related to my rescue work on 9/11 I am cutting loose with another one of my projects to pay some more medical bills. Here we have a a 1 owner 1969 Cortina GT. 1600cc Kent Cross Flow 4 cyl Engine Engine Runs and has 40lbs oil pressure at an idle cold No oil smoke Runs Very Well It Has a Good Header that has been Restored and Coated NO Exhaust Present Coolant Looks Clean No Leaks In Radiator Clutch Hydraulics Work Trans Shifts Smoothly Brakes Are Low I ran it off a gas can Tank doesn’t seem too bad, but I’m sure it needs to be flushed. The body like most Cortinas needs some help. The bad: Rusted around wheel wells Drivers side rocker rusty Small hole in passengers side cowl under hood Small hole in each of the rear inner wheel wells Rust in Bottoms of both wells by rear quarter panels Rust holes in front underside of hood Bottoms and front tops of front fenders have rust Where they connect to the nose panel has rust One of the small supports that run to the drivers side rocker has outer edge rusted but easily repaired as rest is solid The Good: Door Bottoms have no rust All the floors have only minor surface rust and are solid some red paint still present. Look super from underneath. Main Frame members are solid. The infamous front strut perches were repaired a while ago and are still in good shape. Trunk Floor and top of gas tank are mint Rear panel and Valance perfect Front Valance very good Top side of hood good Top side of trunk lid perfect It has all the original trim and chrome pieces still intact and amazingly straight. All the body side stainless trims are perfect. I also have one extra wheel well trim NOS included. Grille is very straight. It has all original glass in perfect condition. All the lights and lenses a good. Even has Lucas sealed beams still. All the GT emblems are present and in good shape. The interior is all original, All the door panels are excellent. The wood dash while the lacquer is peeling the wood is perfect underneath. It has all the original gauges. Including the original clock which still works and keeps time. The original radio. The seats are all intact, while the upholstery is starting to split and is getting a bit hard. Even the card board tray around the heater is good. Kick panels are good. All door handles and trim are good. Console is very good. Still has all the front and rear ash trays. Dash pad is good and only has a couple small splits. All the fresh air vents are present and working. Light switches work and turn signal switch is good. Steering wheel in good shape missing center emblem insert. Under the hood all original parts are present and working even the factory smog air pump is there and works. Has the original windshield washer bag still. Rebuilt tube header. All in all a super complete car. As a parts car I would rate it a 10, as a restoration project maybe a 5.5. It needs Rear quarters replaced or repaired, outer rockers, front fenders, patches on rear part of rear wheel wells. Main structure is solid. Sheet Metal parts are readily available one source is http://www.steelpanels.co.uk/ford-body-panels.php?listID=cortina2-fs It includes the green Cortina in the pictures which has many of the panels this one needs in much better shape. Car was a standard 1500 Cortina Engine has been sold but has two extra non GT gearboxes and some extra parts are included. See pictures. Hopefully someone will see the value of this rare complete little car and give it the love it deserves. As I said Drive Train is Solid!! I’m starting bidding at less than the drive train is worth. Cars are for sale locally. Any questions? Your calls will be answered quicker than emails. Thanks For Looking. Coming Soon 1965 Bond Equipe 4S…..
