Finished in white over black, this blue license plate California car is a great find for the Datsun enthusiast for about the cost of the sales tax alone on a new 370Z. Driven what is believed to be just over 72,200 orignal miles on the working five-digit odometer [though I cannot 100% verify this due to the age], this early series 1 car sports what appears to be the original 2.4 liter inline six cylinder engine and carbs mated to the four speed manual transmission. The original color was obviuosly orange under the lackluster older white respray. It has cool genuine wire wheels with decent rubber, ORIGINAL UNUSED SPARE TIRE and the original owners book. It is being sold from my collection [two other 1972s available as well as many other cool classics] with a clear and clean California title with no fees due. I would call this car a nice ten footer. The repaint is older and far from concourse show-quality but an older inexpensive redo including the inside door jams]. The chrome bumpers and trim all look original. The paint has many dings, imperfections, blended areas, brush touched spots and signs of the original orange showing through. There is some corrosion on the rockers and passenger side underneath. As you can see in the photo, the spare tire well is very nice as are the engine bay shock towers. The genuine wire wheels have a bit of light corrosion and pitting but the tires have decent tread. NOTE: I got the car with the center wheel spinners uninstalled. I placed them on for the photos ONLY. They will have to be installed properly by the new owner. THE INTERIOR The interior of this little classic Z is in QUITE GOOD VERY ORIGINAL CONDITION overall. The horn, lights, blinkers and all other gauges work as they should except for the oil pressure gauge and the clock which keeps perfect time only twice a day! The interior carpets and mats look good as well as all of the black quilted pattern vinyl covering in the rear hatch. The carpet is missiong back there though the untouched spare still holds air, the tool kit is present and the seats look all original and in amazingly good shape. The shifter boot is a bit tattered, the dash has some cracking, the headliner is very nice as is the original steering wheel. THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE This 240Z starts, runs and drives QUITE WELL! The engine is mooth and pretty powerful, the transmission up and downshifts well and the steering is very tight and responsive. The braking is strong and straight and the suspension feels very good with no noticeable clunks or rattles. This 40+ year-old Nissan....I mean Datsun car is quite rewarding to drive showing why these cars have been so popular over their many iterations decades later. THE DETAILS AND $$$$$$ 1.
