Vehicle Detail

For Sale by Auction: 1965 Pontiac Grand Prix, 2 door hard top coupe, 389 V8 with 4 barrel carb, Auto Trans Turbo 400, Floor Shift Console with vacuum power tachometer on the console. P/S, P/B, Tilt Wheel, only 13,371 Original miles on 2nd owner. This is not a mistake on the mileage! My uncle kept the car clean and hardly ever drove it. I have had the local Chevy dealer check over the car. There is no indication that the car has been turned over on the odometer, example is the quality of the interior, various stickers on firewall and air filter container, presence of rubber front wheel liners under the hood and the presence of factory stickers on the radiator rail. Strong points of the car: The interior, dash wood, seats, carpets, door panels are all original and need little or mostly no work or replacement. All Systems Work except dash clock and fuel gauge, this fuel is stuck on full, which indicates a negative contact in the sensor. Brake lights, turn Signals, Heater Blower, Gauges and light indicators on dash (brake, oil, temp), Speed-0, Pull Vents, Head Lamps, Interior Lights, Windows up & down, seats move efficiently, glove box door and console doors lock and open. All work great. This is a very nice car that needs a little body work and paint due to sitting at the farm for 5 years prior to my uncle's passing. This car was his dream car and he bought it new in 1965 while in high school. I am the second owner. I do not have original sales papers, only a clear and clean title and original owner's guide book. We thought we were going to keep the car since it is a family car, but have not done anything to it other than what is listed below. We do not plan on restoring the car. This car has the original spare, all 4 hubcaps, jack, base, trunk liner and spare tire security mounts in the trunk. New parts include, 4 New Tires, Brake Master Cylinder, Mufflers, Tail Pipes, Clamps, Hangers, Plug Wires, Distributor Cap, Rotor, Points & Condenser (all have less than 40 miles on them). Negative points of car: Radio is not the original radio, but is an aftermarket cassette player that still works great. Needs new head liner and window seals all around. Exterior needs some body work & re-painting. Bumpers need to be re-chromed but are not dented, pitted or rusted beyond the point of requiring replacement. The carburetor needs to be rebuilt or replaced since the seals are dried and allows for the fuel to evaporate between starts. This would also make the vehicle run perfectly. Overall car drives very strong with great brakes. They need to be bled after the new master cylinder and seal were replaced 2 weeks ago. There was a leak between the power booster and the master cylinder and the only way to get a new seal was to get a master cylinder. So, I replaced it while I was putting on the new seal. The rear view mirror on the outside of the vehicle is loose, but is there. The "G" is missing from the right front fender emblems. There is some rust on the rear quarter panels and very minor rust above the wheel wells and on fenders. As with any old car, it is being sold as-is & where is. There is no warranty expressed, orally or written as to its condition. This car is located in Yankton, South Dakota, 57078. I will answer any questions by Ebay mail. There is a small reserve on this car and should be met easily. The winning bidder must make a deposit of 500 US dollars within 3 days of auctions end with the remainder of the balance due upon picking up the car. I will hold the car for no longer than 7 days of auctions end. If the bidder does not pay the remaining balance within 7 days and pick up or make arrangements for the delivery of the vehicle, I reserve the right to provide a deposit refund, minus seller fees and will keep the car for future relisting. I would be glad to assist the shipper of your choice in loading the car safely onto the carrier. The buyer is responsible for pick up or for providing their own method of shipping the car from my residence to the location of their choosing by any carrier of their own choosing. Thank you and Good Luck Bidding.** I have many pictures of the underside of the car (straight, solid car, frame is solid.) I am only limited to 24 pics in the auction itself. I will send them if requested, with an Email address.
