Vehicle Detail
No expense spared, rotisserie restoration, on a Texas, rust free '68 Camaro. Purchased from the original owner in 2006. The current owner asked me to list the car for him because he does not use Ebay. I have the car and necessary paperwork to complete the sale. The car received a full restoration, then was stored in a state of the art climate controlled building. The body was one of the best that could be found, none of the body panels needed to be replaced...all original floor, trunk, quarters, doors, etc. The hood is an exact duplicate of the original '68 Yenko hood. I know this for a fact because I owned an original and sent it out to a manufacture to use for a pattern to reproduce this hood. He did however improve the fit somewhat. By the way, I did the restoration for my friend who owns the car. The body and paint is beautiful. We built the car in a RS SS fashion using '67 R/S setup because they work and work fast with less clutter in the engine compartment. The interior features the Black /White Houndstooth seats and deluxe trim which is not often found in Yenko cars. The careful eye will notice the 140 mph speedo which was a Yenko car only feature as well as the Greenline gauges for oil & temp. and tachometer. An original SS steering wheel with tilt option. Radio delete. The engine is a 427 fully rebuilt to be streetable, producing 416 hp @ 5300 and 460 ft/lb torque @ 3600. The engine has GM Performance aluminum heads and Jet Hot coated headers. Muncie Transmission is fully rebuilt, uses a Center Force clutch and pressure plate. The rear end is a new Moser 12 bolt with 3.73 gears and Eaton posi. The power disc brakes work great and power steering is also a plus. There is so much too list, so I am hitting the highlights. Please email if more questions. Everything is new or reconditioned to new standards. Almost forgot the wheels, yes Don Yenko chose the Pontiac Rally II to use on his '68 models, we had the special "Y" centers made to match his. Originals like this car, far exceed the $200K mark and don't very often see daylight, here's one you can enjoy, which has a reserve set well below the build cost. Good luck bidding! I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. The car is sold as is and where is. A 10% deposit is required immediately after the auction ends, so please send email and phone number at auction completion. The buyer is responsible for pickup or transporting. On Sep-21-12 at 14:29:37 PDT, seller added the following information: The owner wants to sell and has informed me to lower the reserve and let everyone know what it is. $21,000 is the new reserve. Good Luck Bidding!
