Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a1956 Ford F-100. The engine, a 429 V8, and front end are out of a 1968 Thunderbird. Transmission is a C6. The frame and rear end are from the F-100. 9" transaxle. Truck has power brakes (front disc, rear drum) and power steering. The truck, based on the VIN, originated form the San Jose plant and the frame off restoration was done in Southern California. It was a complete frame off restoration job in 2007/2008. I bought it from the man who did the restoration work and had it shipped here from California in 2008. Truck has been stored in a heated garage each winter. Truck has a large back window which was an option for that year. The figures I found indicate that Ford produced 137,581 of the F-100s in 1956 & of these only 6,200 had the large back window. Thus, this one is fairly rare. The Engine has a 4-barrel Holley carb on it that is probably about 750-800cfm. Carb was overhauled in 2009. I installed a new quick change vacuum secondary unit on it and tuned it myself. Now, it runs great. Gauges in the truck are original and work. There is a radio mounted in the headliner...custom power antenna is on the rear driver side of the cab. Gas tank is now mounted under the wooden bed of the truck. Bed is is perfect shape. Truck has Vintage Air. Wheels are American Racing and tires are still pretty new. Bench seat is leather. Steering wheel is a mahogany Grant wheel. I just put a brand new 100A chrome alternator on it in May 2012. Overall, I haven't put very many miles on it since I got it. Note- the paint has 2 chips in it: one on the tail gate and one on the passenger front corner of the hood. They have been primed over with self etching primer in flat grey. Neither stand out unless you are looking for them. Also, the truck leaks a little oil from the oil pan but not enough to warrant a pan/gasket replacement. Lastly, the paint is good but is not a $15k/Barrett-Jackson/Mecums worthy paint job. Otherwise, I'd be auctioning it there. I don't really want to part with this beauty but I feel that someone else could get more enjoyment and better use out of it right now based on where I am in my life. Needless to say, the truck is being sold as is with a clean title. No warranties apply to this truck and all sales are final. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and arrangements after a successful winning bid and transaction of funds. Sellers liability ends FOB. I will be happy to work with your choice of shippers. (Note: I actually used FedEx to ship this 4yrs ago. They were professional and while not the cheapest, it was enclosed transportation and the truck arrived flawlessly). Feel free to contact me with whatever questions you might have and I will answer them to the best of my ability (just remember that I did not do the restoration work, thus I might not know some of the answers depending on what you ask).
