1.8L 1ZZ-FE Aluminum Engine (120 hp @ 5600 rpm, 122 lb/ft @ 4400 rpm) VIN: 1nxbr12e8xz159019 The car runs well. There are no known problems with the engine or transmission. The oil was changed on regular intervals for the seven years we owned it. The engine light goes on and has done so since we purchased it; the code has to do the evaporative emission control system. I have had a couple of parts replaced, but the light still comes back. Otherwise, it drives like a Toyota with 128,000 miles. It needs a paint job. The paint (for some reason) has deteriorated so that large areas of the black paint are faced or gone. (See photos.) The CE badge and the A in COROLLA on the trunk fell off, but are in the car and can be reattached. The trunk opens only using the inside lever, not the key (it wont turn). The left rear door opens using the outside handle, but not the inside handle. The fabric on the inside on the roof has begun to come down in a couple of places, but is not torn or otherwise damaged. The interior is in good condition, with a few minor stains but no tears in the upholstery. In the last couple of years I have replaced the distributor, wires, plugs, exhaust and all four steel wheels. The factory stereo was replaced with an Alpine CD head unit seven years ago. The car has been hit twice in the rear since we purchased it, with only minor damage that was professionally repaired. The jack and spare tire are in the trunk.
