For auction/sale I am offering a 1971 Fiat 850 Sport Spider convertible. I purchased this car to drive but I have discovered that it needs extensive unibody structural repair to make it safe to drive. I have only owned it for about a month and have no interest in another project. The engine was rebuilt by the previous owner within the last 6 years of his owning the car. He purchased it from the original owner. It had been sitting outdoors for some time prior to him beginning his repairs. The car starts and has brakes (a little soft, need to be bled) but I do not recommend it be driven for any distance except to load on a trailer. The clutch seems to be slipping. The car has an electric fuel pump that bypasses the mechanical pump and an inline fuel regulator. The battery was apparently purchased in 2011 but the alternator does not seem to be keeping the battery charged. The car will not travel any distance safely or reliably at this time. I recommend hauling this car to its new home for repairs. The Interior seats and top were new within the last 6 years. I am loading as many pictures as I can but can take specific requests and email if you are interested. Please read all the description and make your decision knowing that it is best to use as a parts car or expect lots of body work. The exterior doors, hood, deck lid, and fenders are all in need of some repair. Not necessarily rust but all have some dings, ripples or some imperfections. The paint is a maix of old and new and doubtful any of it professionally done. Most likely spray can cover-ups. I will be happy to answer any questions to the best of my knowledge but do not know much of its history. I am listing it locally and posting it through the local vintage Fiat owners club and reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time if a reasonable offer is made. There are LOTS of extra parts (see pictures) that come with the car. I am not sure of the condition of these parts. Please ask questions as needed. Thank you for looking.
