1972 FORD F250 ¾ TON LONG BED, FLEETSIDE PICK UP WITH THE 390 V8 & AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. IT IS A RANGER XLT CAMPER SPECIAL WITH THE TOWING PACKAGE. THIS TRUCK WAS A BARN FIND IN SONOMA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA. THE ODOMETER SAYS 77K AND I BELIEVE THAT IS THE CORRECT MILEAGE, BUT SINCE OLD FORD ODOMETERS DON'T GO INTO 100K'S, I CANNOT BE SURE AND WONT BASE THE PRICE ON IT. THE BODY IS IN GOOD SHAPE WITH NO LARGE DENTS OR REPAIRS OR MANY OF ANY KIND. THE GLASS IS GOOD, BUT NOT PERFECT. THE PAINT IS FADING AND IS BREAKING DOWN IN A FEW AREAS. ESPECIALLY ON THE HOOD. THERE IS SOME SURFACE RUST, BUT NOTHING DEEP. THE UNDERCARRIGE HAS SURFACE RUST, BUT AGAIN, NOTHING DEEP. THE 390 MOTOR STARTS EASILY, RUNS WELL AND HAS EXCELLENT COMPRESSION AT 137 TO 147 POUNDS ACROSS ALL 8 CYL. THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTS FREELY AND CRISPLY. AS A 1972, IT WILL NEVER NEED TO BE SMOGGED. THE TRUCK HAS A PROFFESSIONALLY REBUILT HOLLY 4 BARREL CARBURATOR, NEW HEADERS AND STAINLESS EXHAUST SYSTEM, A FOUR WHEEL BRAKE JOB WITH THE DRUMS AND ROTORS TURNED, NEW KYB SHOCKS, ENGINE, TRANNY & REAR END FLUID CHANGED AND NEW BELTS ALL WITHIN 3K. ALSO IN THAT TIME I HAD THE FRONT END ALIGNED AND THE KING PINS WERE OK AND IT NOW TRACKS PERFECTLY. THE STEERING BOX NEEDS TO BE ADJUSTED OR REPLACED AS THERE IS A LITTLE PLAY THAT HAS RECENTLY DEVELOPED, BUT IT IS STILL PERFECTLY DRIVEABLE. I HAD PLANNED TO RESTORE THE PU AND HAVE A LOT OF THE PARTS NECESSARY, INCLUDING LIGHTLY USED REPLACEMENT STARTER AND ALTERNATER, A FULL SET OF TIRES ON THE RIGHT SIZE FORD RIMS, AN EXTRA FRONT GAS TANK TO NAME BUT A FEW AND THEY GO WITH THE TRUCK. ALSO, THE TRUCK IS SET UP FOR TWO GAS TANKS. THE REAR TANK HAS BEEN REMOVED. I HAVE THE TANK AND ALL THE NECESARRY PARTS TO REPLACE IT, INCLUDING THE TANK SWITCH VALVE AND DASH GUAGE TANK SWITCH. THE REAR BUMPER IS A HEAVY DUTY BARDEN STYLE WITH A 2' ACCEPTER AND WORKING ELECTRICAL HOOK UP. THE TIRES ARE GOOD. THE TRUCK IS RELIABLE AND IN SHAPE TO BE A DAILY DRIVER OR AT THE POINT TO BEGIN A DEEPER RESTORATION. THIS TRUCK IS A GREAT PLATFORM FOR EITHER. I JUST GOT A GREAT DEAL ON A 90 F250 TURBO DIESEL AND NO LONGER HAVE THE TIME, MONEY AND ROOM TO PROPERLY RESTORE THIS TRUCK. IF YOU WANT A RELIABLE, TOUGH TRUCK, THAT ALWAYS STARTS AND YOU WILL NEVER NEED TO SMOG, FOR HARD WORK OR A VINTAGE, FULLY LOADED TRUCK TO RESTORE, THIS IS THE TRUCK FOR YOU. THE TRUCK IS CURRENTLY REGISTERED AND I HAVE THE PINK IN HAND. BRING CASH AND DRIVE IT HOME! WHERE EVER YOU LIVE!
