Vehicle Detail
This is a numbers matching 1979 Firebird Esprit, with build sheet, in exceptional condition. It has under 100K pampered original miles. The car was built at the Van Nuys California plant and has lived in state ever since. Options include V8, AT, PDB, PS, PW, PDL, AC, tilt, 63 amp alt., dual sport mirrors, tinted windows, Esprit package, deluxe custom bucket seat interior with console and various body trim options. Drive-train: Numbers matching 305 V8 that is still running strong. It was born with a 2 barrel manifold and carb. but now has a polished factory aluminum intake and Quadrajet 4 barrel carb. The valve covers, oil pan and air cleaner are ball milled polished aluminum with a polished aluminum timing cover and radiator overflow can. The ignition has been upgraded to a FC3000 fire control ignition system with 8mm wires. All factory smog gear, with exception of the air cleaner, is in place and operational. The exhaust has a Flowmaster cat back system. There is an additional electric fan at the radiator operated by a toggle under the dash to assist in keeping the engine running cool in 100 degree plus temps with the AC on. The engine compartment is extremely clean. Even the brackets are painted and pin striped. The transmission is the original Turbo 350 automatic that functions as it should. The rear end is the original 10 bolt with 241 gears and a polished aluminum cover. There are also Gabriel Hijacker air shocks and chrome "Slapper" traction bars. Brakes are power with disc on the front and drum on the rear. The master cylinder was replaced during the last brake job. The power steering works well and the front suspension is tight. The car now comes with GM 15" lace wheels, not the Cragars. Body: The body on this car is amazing. It has never had any rust or bondo and has only one small door ding in the driver door. It is still wearing the factory original Cameo white paint, although silver flames and pin striping were added 8 years ago. The paint is in very good condition with only minor chips on the rubber front and rear bumpers as well as on the corner of the rear spoiler. There are some light scratches to the clear coat over the flames on the hood. Interior: The interior is the original Carmine red Deluxe Custom bucket seat version in near mint condition. The dash is in excellent condition with no cracks or curling. The headliner is great and even the carpet is near perfect. Additions are a billet steering wheel and aftermarket tach to the tilt column, a trio of gauges in an engine turned panel below the dash and a Sony in dash CD player with 6x9 speakers in the rear package tray and an electric antenna. The car has factory tinted glass all around with power windows and door locks. The windshield wipers are new and the AC blows cold. The trunk is in excellent condition with a felt mat and new spare tire with all jack equipment. This Bird is in excellent condition overall and is listed on a No Reserve auction at a third of the cost of a '70-73 bird in similar condition. You are encouraged to come inspect the car before bidding. After all, the car is 33 years old, although in fantastic condition, and not new. There is no expressed or implied warranty. The car is listed for sale locally and the auction may be ended if the car sells prior to a bid. The car will not be sold locally once there is a bid. Call Don, (714) 731-5129, or email with any questions. May trade for a '49-72 Chevy/GMC 1/2 ton short bed stepside, pre-'73 El Camino or '53-60 Ford F100 1/2 ton short bed stepside in daily driver condition. Buyer responsible for shipping and arrangements, however, I am available most anytime for pick up.
