Vehicle Detail
1947 Plymouth Special Deluxe 4-Door This is a project car, in need of total restoration. I was told the car would run, but I have owned it for many years and have never tried to start the car. I have too many projects, and this is one I have decided to part with. 1947 Plymouth Special Deluxe 4-Door Sedan, known as a P15. S/N 20287541 Odometer shows 54,874 Outer Body is very solid except for some lower cancer and cancer on the right side of the hood, which makes the hood hard to close without wanting to bend - two people can close it okay. All the glass light lenses look to be original style and only one is cracked (rear left taillight). Wiper arms move properly by hand, so the gears appear okay. One window is cracked (right front door window.) All the trim appears to be here. One piece is not on the car, but I have it. Much of the trim has little dents and dings on it. The metal trim between the left-rear fender and body is completely loose. The hood ornament metal is there, but whatever the plastic part is, is only half-there. All four doors open and close well. The drivers door latch needs some work, but the hinges and alignment are quite good. The trunk opens and closes easily. The hood has the rust problem which is noted above. The hood latch is in place, but I don't try to latch it because the hood needs that rust repaired. Engine and everything under the hood looks original to me. 6-cylinder engine appears to be the original flatbed 217.8 ci. Transmission is a manual with the shifter on the column. I was told it was a 3-speed, but that's all I know. 6-volt battery, oil-bath air cleaner, big trumpet horns, etc. Interior upholstery is very rough and all needs to be replaced. The car is equipment with a radio, which appears to be original equipment, as well as a heater that hangs under the dash. Also has an original clock. Gauges and speedometer look good. Door handles and such are in fair condition. Car does not have any brakes, but it will roll easily to get it on to a flatbed trailer. I would not flat-tow this car.... I recommend a flatbed trailer for safety. Included with car and new (reprint I am sure) Service Manual and Owner's Manual. I bought them when I got the car, planning to restore it, but I just do not have the time. Payment is as follows: $100 must be sent via PayPal or CASH received in-hand within 48 hours of auction close. Full payment in CASH, Cashier's Check or Money Order is due with when car is picked up. Vehicle must be picked up within 10 days of auction close, unless special arrangements with me are made. I am easy to work with - just e-mail me. Alabama does not issue titles on vehicles made before 1974. I do not have title. You will be given a signed bill of sale. Thanks for looking and good luck!On Aug-28-12 at 16:08:08 PDT, seller added the following information: Any bidder with less than 10 feedback with be cancelled unless you contact me first. I am doing this because of scammers. I will not ship this car.
