Vehicle Detail
Yes you read the listing right. This is an all original 1980 MGB with 5585 miles!!!!! You are not going to find another car like this. It is impossible. If you buy a MGB that is a restoration then you are just buying a modern version of the car. The definition of a restoration is making it appear as though it appeared when it was new. A restoration is really a fake version of the old car. This car is as new as it was. This is not a restoration. This is essentially a new car that has all the original parts that were installed in 1980. This car sat in a garage for about 20 years without anything being done to it. The MGB had the famous Ziebart undercoating by the dealership before it was ever picked up. You know this car has no rust because of that. I told you this is a one of a kind. There were some things that needed to be done since the car had sat and needed to be revived. Gas Tank Brake Lines A few dry rotted rubber hoses Radiator Battery Background story of the car. This is a one owner car. How do I know this? The owner is my dad. The MGB was his dream car. He looked everywhere to find the car that had what he wanted on it. He had to have british racing green. I guess when you look at it what other color would you want but the color that is specific to English Sports Cars? He had to have spoke wheels. Again, what other kind of wheel would you want other than an original wheel? If you don't have factory wire wheels then you don't have the wheels that should be on that car. He lived in Houston and ended up having to drive to corpus christi to get what he wanted. This is over a four hour drive one way so essentially 5% of the vehicles miles were put on the car just to get it home. After getting his dream home my dad was scared to drive it. He did not want to mess up the car that was his dream car. It ended up turning into charging up the battery just to get it started when he did decide to drive it. Eventually, the battery was unable to be charged and the car sat. Does not really make sense to me. I always thought that you should enjoy the vehicle of your dreams. I guess the positive is now there is an all original last year made 1980 MGB that is really a brand new car in 2012. A one of a kind. Original Top/Original Wheels/Original Tires/Original Interior/Original Paint/Original Engine/Original Transmission/Original Window Sticker along with brand new literature from the dealership in 1980. I have the original painted wire wheels that came along with the car and also a set of chrome wire wheels that were bought later. That is right. It has the original top and the original tires that came with the car. Not only that but both of them look brand new. The authenticity of this car is ridiculous and I can't see that finding a better new car match is even possible. You have the ability to time travel back to 1980 and drive home a car that is brand new. There are are few scratches that are on the car that I tried to show in the pictures. They are not bad. They are garage scratches. There is also a small wave in the trunk. It looks like it is from the weight of the trunk being open for a while. This could be fixed easily. It is barely noticeable unless you are looking for it so it is not even really worth bothering with. This car is a guaranteed winner if it were submitted at an MG car show. How could there be a car more authentic with test drive mileage? Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, Mike
