Vehicle Detail

The engine starts right up, runs and sounds good. Not drivable; the transmission has a problem, it starts, making a whining noise, sort of like a power steering pump that is low on fluid. The fluid is pink and doesn't smell burned. I changed the filter, thinking maybe it was partially clogged, but no luck. When the pan was off there was about a tablespoon full of fine gray metal particles accumulated on the magnet. This problem started at home, and we have not attempted to drive anywhere since the noise started. It will go in gear and move forward and backward, but as the noise gets more prominent, the transmission feels like it is slipping and not getting the power to the wheels. The body is hail damaged on top and on the passenger side, which may not be obvious in pictures. Tires are fair. Has the following features and all work well: CD, cassette, cruise control, rear air, power windows, passenger side power sliding door. Power rear (vent) windows. Vehicle interior is in good shape. Back windshield wiper works fine. Nonsmoking vehicle. Note: replaced rear hub and bearing assemblies, rear brake shoes and cylinders, along with front brake pads, less than four thousand miles back. Replaced the power window motor in the driver's door about five thousand miles back. Windshield is only two years old and has no cracks. TITLE: The van was sold at auction after a hail storm by an insurance company, making it a "salvage title". We bought it from the dealer who converted it into what is called a "TRANSFER" title. As far as I can tell, it has never been in an accident other than the hail storm. The title has an entry "DATE INS. LOSS OR SALVAGE 05/16/2010"The title is green and the type is annotated as TRANSFER but that is not an ebay option. This van sold in a previous auction but the winning bidder withdrew their bid so here we go again - - Please bid only if you are responsible.Good Luck.Cheers,Bill
