Vehicle Detail
1972 Bronco Sport Offered for auction is a very unique classic Bronco Sport Model. This Bronco is an absolute joy to drive! It runs down the road supper smooth and straight. The 302 V8 runs very strong and the 3speed transmission shifts smooth. I have owned several vintage Broncos and this is one of the sweetest! The unrestored patina gives this Bronco a very attractive appearance. Good examples of unrestored vintage Broncos like this are getting more and more difficult to find. While I have owned the Bronco I have done several upgrades please email or call with questions! Engine: The original equipment engine has been completely rebuilt and has approximately 20K miles on it. I recently did a compression check and all 8 cylinders which have great compression (160-165 psi) this is what you would expect with low miles. The previous owner did install an aluminum four barrel intake with a new Holley carburetor which has electric choke, so cold starts are not an issue. The engine does not smoke or burn any oil. It runs very strong and sounds great. Body: This Bronco is extremely solid! All the original sheet metal and panels are still in place and very straight! The front floors have been completely replaced with OEM type floors. All the old sheet metal was cut out and the new floors were MIG welded in place. The rear bed area is very solid along with the rear quarter panels seams. The front door post and kick panels are in great condition. The driver and passenger door strikers are in perfect condition. There is some rust in the tailgate and a very small amount in the inner fenders and the right lower taillight cap. The passenger side rocker panel does have some surface rust on the bottom side. The back side of both rockers is in great condition no rust! The paint is showing its age, it does have a few chips and scratches, which are mostly located on the hood and front fenders. Frame / suspension / axles: The frame is extremely clean and straight it has never been wrecked or rolled. The Bronco does have a very nice James Duff 3 inch suspension lift with quad shocks at both axles. The rear axle is a big bearing 9 inch set with 3.50 gears and limited slip which is all very tight. The front axle is a Dana 44 also is set with 3:50 gears this is also nice and tight. New axle joints and wheel bearings have just been installed 3 weeks ago. Transmission / Transfer-case: The transmission is the stock 72 Bronco 3 speed manual. The transfer-case is a stock Dana 20, which works great. The shifter moves in and out off all gears smoothly. The front lockout hubs have recently been serviced and function extremely well, the manual steering column shift effortlessly into all gears. Wheels / Tires: The rims are factory Ford 15x8 chrome with 31x10.50 Goodyear allterrain tires. The tires have 50-85% tread. I love the look of this Bronco with the uncut fenders and the taller tires! Steering / Brakes: The Bronco has a very nice factory power steering setup. The steering box and pump are extremely smooth and don’t leak any fluid. The tie rod ends and drag link are good. All ball joints are tight. The Bronco has recently received a complete brake job front and rear. This Bronco stops great! The parking brake also works great. This Bronco drives very smooth and straight with no bump steer or wandering. Electrical: All lights and turn signals work great! All the gauges are accurate and functional, even the fuel gauges for both the front and rear tanks. The wiper, and emergency flasher systems work great! The factory heater works amazing! All the pull cables on the dash move freely. The blower motor and switch function like new. The retro Pioneer Super Tuner is fully functional but the speaker in the dash is not in best condition. Interior / soft trim: Recently I installed a new black carpet kit complete with new aluminum tie down strips. The OEM Bronco seats have been redone with new covers. The seat belts have also been replaced for added safety. The door seals and window felting are in great condition. The front windshield and gasket have been replaced. The door locks, Liftgate and glovebox locks are all functioning and locking with a key. History has shown that classic Ford cars with a Marti Report have an increased resale value. Stuff: The engine does leak a small amount around the dip stick / pan union, nothing major.
