Vehicle Detail

You are looking at an ORIGINAL 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1. This car has had an amateur driver restoration done by a prior owner in the not too distant past and while a very presentable and good running car it is by no means perfect. The car had been sitting the better part of a year when I acquired it and while I have been driving the car performing the tweaks and tuning required to enhance its drivability; it still has some kinks to be worked out due to its inactivity before I would call this an everyday driver or attempt to make a cross country trip with it. I would much rather be cruising this car around my home turf learning all of the car's unique idiosyncrasies as opposed to finding something out on a road trip in unfamiliar surroundings. Being as this is a REAL 1969 Mustang Mach 1 and not some sort of tribute or clone car; this car warrants the time, effort, and funds required to finish it's restoration. This 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 is an ORIGINAL Acapulco Blue on Black 351W-2V car with a factory rating of 250hp. This car was also originally equipped with an Automatic Transmission and connected to a bullet proof 9 inch Ford rear end. This car is well equipped and documented as such per the Deluxe Marti Report which I will include in its sale. This 1969 Mustang Mach 1 was ordered in the Philadelphia, PA Sales District (DSO 16). It was a retail customer order that was sold NEW at Rice & Homan Ford in Merchantville, NJ with the following equipment as its drivetrain options: H-code 351W-2V engine, X-code FMX Automatic Transmission, and a 6-code 3.00 open 9 inch rear end. This Mach 1 was further equipped with these factory Mach 1 featured items and optional equipment to include: Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, Air Conditioning, Tinted Glass, Chrome Styled Steel Wheels, E70x14 WSW Tires, Rim Blow Deluxe Mach 1 Steering Wheel, AM Radio, Deluxe Woodgrain Dash Instruments, Sports Ralley Clock, Mach 1 Hood Scoop with turn indicators, Hood Pins, and a Heavy Duty Battery. The door tag info is as follows and as listed on the Deluxe Marti Report BODY 63C = Mach 1 2 door Sportsroof Color 65 = Acapulco Blue with Mach 1 Hood Black out treatment Trim 3A = Black Clarion Knit Mach 1 Hi-Back Bucket Seat Sports Interior Date 14L = November 14, 1968 Scheduled Build Date DSO 16 = Philadelphia, PA ordering district Axle 6 = 3.00 Conventional Axle with 9 inch ring gear Trans X = FMX 3-speed Automatic transmission This Factory Acapulco Blue on Black Mach 1 while having had an amateur driver restoration and actually being a very presentable car; it still needs some finish work. The paint on the car is decent but not without flaw and could benefit from some touch up in several places. The Acapulco Blue with the Gold Mach 1 stripes really is a stunning combination. The car was nudged in the left rear on the bumper and will need to be fixed (see pics), but it was a very minor low speed bump. There are a couple of spots on the hood black out that will also need some attention; but overall this is a very presentable looking Mach 1 that will definitely turn heads at the cruise night. When they painted the car they did a decent driver quality job, but did not really address anything underneath the car in terms of repair or detailing. The car has had some floor work done in the past and while those repairs are solid they are not asthetically pleasing. The torque boxes will need some attention too. The rear rails have blisters (see pics) and will need to be repaired also. Trunk drops will also need attention as well. While the underside of the car does need some attention the pans are not falling out of the car. None of this affects the safety or functionality of the vehicle; however you will want to address it at some point in the future. (Please See Pics) . The car also has had the optional Front and Rear Spoilers added during its restoration. The engine and transmission in the car were both rebuilt during the restoration at which time the engine was upgraded with a 4V Edelbrock Aluminum Intake and Edelbrock 4V carburetor. The 351W was also treated to an engine dress up kit which included Ford Motorsport Aluminum Rocker covers and a Chrome Hi-Po Air cleaner. The car has brand new dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers to give the car a rockin' musclecar sound that is absolute music to the ears!! The transmission in the car runs through the gears properly and shifts as it should. The underhood AC components were missing from the car when I purchased it; but all of the underdash pieces are there. I do have some of the underhood pieces on a parts car and will include what parts I have with the car as part of the auction. The suspension and brakes on this car have also been refurbished when the rest of the mechanical work was done. The car drives and stops well. One thing of interesting note is that this car came through on the assembly line with Big Block braced towers like the 428 CJ Mach 1’s and Shelby Mustangs had. This is a huge plus for a small block car whose towers were often prone to cracking and collapsing because they were not equipped with the HEAVY DUTY Big Block Shock tower bracing. The Mach 1's rolling stock consists of a BRAND NEW set 15" x 7" Magnum 500 wheels with staggered 60 series Firestone Indy 500 Raised White Letter Rubber mounted on them giving the car a natural rake for that true TOUGH 60's Musclecar look!! The inside of this car has also been restored and makes for a very appealing Deluxe Mach 1 interior (see pics) complete with nice Comfortweave High Back Mach 1 Bucket Seats and matching Rear Seat. The Dash pad and Mach 1 Wood Grained Instruments and Deluxe Door Panels are also very nice in the car as is the carpet and headliner. The interior also retains its original and highly desirable Rim Blow Deluxe Mach 1 Steering wheel and Deluxe Mach 1 Center Console. I have other cars that I am in mid-restoration on at the moment, so I just do not see myself getting to this one anytime soon. I’d really like to get it into the hands of someone who wants a Mach 1 that they can drive now!! This car runs, drives, and looks good and someone can do some tinkering with it as they go along.....that is 1/2 the fun in owning an old Musclecar!! A weekend project here and there to give you some 'Instant Gratification' and then this winter dive in and give it the time & effort it deserves to finish the restoration. I will be auctioning other Mustang, Mach 1, Cougar, Torino Cobra, and Cyclone Spoiler project cars soon so please watch for my other auctions!! I do have this 1969 Mach 1 listed elsewhere and as such reserve the right to end the auction at anytime. Please look at the pictures and ask any questions BEFORE you bid!! I want you to be sure of what you are bidding on and for us both to be satisfied with the Mach 1's described condition and its sale. I expect a deposit within 24 hours of auctions end and balance of payment within 7 days of auction end. This 1969 Mustang Mach 1 is a 40+ year old car and as such is being auctioned 'as-is where-is' and 'as-described' with no warranties either expressed or implied. I have described this 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 accurately so please read the auction text and look at the pictures carefully and make sure this is what you want before bidding. If you are not sure please do not bid. I take my auctions seriously and so should you. Good Luck and Happy Bidding!!! > More than just a pretty picture. Try Vendio Image Hosting.
