Vehicle Detail

1983 Mercedes-Benz 300D Turbodiesel - approx 126k miles. Car is daily driven to and from Boston, has gone to NYC and back without issue. Still gets 25+ MPG. I would not hesitate to drive this car ANYWHERE - across country, back and forth, non-stop. 5-cylinder turbo diesel, runs smooth, no crazy smoke at idle. Body is in great shape - Floors, frame rails, rockers, doors, other wheel arches all rust free. Small amount of rust on right rear wheel arch/edge, small spot near pass front jack point (not rot - I used this jack point to change a tire recently.), small spot on each front fender under bumper. All trim is present and installed. Interior is in incredible shape, carpets in excellent shape, no rips/tears in door panels, seats, dash is uncracked, etc. All wood is intact and accounted for. Everything works - all four windows, sunroof, rear defroster, clock, all dash instrumentation, all lights in and out, door locks, cylinders. A/C was converted to R-134A and blows ice cold.  Has a block heater and a trailer hitch w/wiring. Exterior: New Bosch headlight doors, Hella Ecode headlight lenses/H4 kit, 6000k HID kit Refreshed/used OEM Grille New P/S "magnifying" mirror (std US) Interior: Nardi 390mm wood wheel w/Crowder's Customizing - Nardi Hub Mid 90's Denon cassette player New front & rear speakers (Pioneer) Suspension/Undercarriage Sway bar repair kit (R/F) Front end rebuild kit (control arms, ball joints, tie rod ends, etc), track guide mounts (5) new Bilstein Comfort shocks (four main shocks, steering stabilizer) New rear brake calipers, pads, rotors, rubber lines; front pads, rotors, wheel bearings Brand new Pirelli P4 all season tires 195/70R14 - w/alignment (@ Mercedes Dealer) Two sets of wheels - oem Bundt (6) and four gold BBS period basket weaves. Engine/Maintenance: repair fuel line leaks @ tank w/new lines, bleed brakes Oil change 6/11 - 8 qts Rotella 15-40, 2 cans Seafoam (one in crank, one in tank), oil filter New accessory belts, fuses, P/S filter, Bosch wipers Oil Change 3/11 - 8 qts BMW 15-40 oil, hose clamps f/fuel lines New Thermostast, Water pump, OEM fan clutch New primary fuel filter, air filter (6/11) New valve cover gasket , oil pan, oil pan gasket New transmission mount Parts included (not installed at this time): Engine motor mounts, engine vibration dampnerI Spare steering spindles (rf and lf) to press new ball joints in w/o downtime (they are not worn, I was going to replace them as preventative maintenance) Driveshaft center support bearing Transmission filter kit Spare used driver's side lower seat spring/base NOTE: When I purchased the car, it had 116K miles on it. I drove the car and the odometer was working. It stopped working, after a few hundred miles. I purchased a spare working speedo/odometer with 318k miles on it, and put it in the car. It now shows 326k miles. I still have the original, and I can get documentation from the dealership verifying this. I can also provide a receipt for the "new" working odometer. To add insult to injury, the office worker filling out the title at purchase put 446k instead of 116k. To avoid a marked title, I did not try to rectify this. So, the original odometer (now inop) says 116k. The one in the car (working) says 326k. The title says 446k. Honestly, this shouldn't matter to anyone that's interested in this car, but it's worth noting. This isn't a concours car in which an odometer discrepancy would make an impact on its value :) If you check the vehicle history, you can see the massive jump from 116k to 446k. Seeing and driving the car it will be crystal clear that this car does not have 446k miles on it. Happy bidding! ***RELISTING - if you cannot pay for the car or pick it up in a reasonable amount of time, do not bid!!!***On Aug-11-12 at 21:28:22 PDT, seller added the following information: Tons of undercarriage pics here: I tried to get every inch of undercarriage. Note the front fender spots - these have been like this for almost two years and haven't grown - same with the spot in the trunk. The gap behind the right rear wheel goes into the trunk - the small section was pushed up by a damaged de-treaded tire. There is also a small 4-5" section under the driver's side door, shown by my thumb. It's just starting, and can easily be fixed. Everything else is as it seems - I did not power wash the undercarriage or engine bay to distract. This is how the car looks right now, driven daily 80+ miles. On Aug-11-12 at 21:32:54 PDT, seller added the following information: On Aug-14-12 at 07:17:47 PDT, seller added the following information: ***$4000 IS THE RESERVE - ALMOST HALF OF THE PARTS VALUE INSTALLED! BID TO WIN! BOTH sets of wheels pictured are included. The OEM Bundt wheels are installed (with the new Pirellis), and the BBS gold mesh wheels will be in the trunk, boxed up.
