Vehicle Detail
If you Google "Studebaker 3 Passenger Coupe" this is the first car that comes up. YES the actual car. eBay just pulled the listing off because I had the wrong acceptable payment, which I realize now they don't like. To those that bid on the car, you were real close to the reserve. Thank you I have decided to sell this Studie because I don't drive it much to keep the miles down, so it is parked in the garage covered up most of the time. 1950 was Studebaker's highest production year with over 340,000 cars manufactured. Of these, 4493 were Business Coupes and 2082 were the Deluxe body style. Very few have survived as they were used hard as the utility cars they were designed to be. To find an example of a Business Coupe with this low of mileage is unheard of, and it is a well cared for 21,500 miles. I have know the car since 1982 when a close friend purchased it from a man living in the Bitterroot Mountains of Montana. At the time it was a very fine original unrestored example and would have remained so except it was parked in the garage covered up when a tornado destroyed the house and garage in 1993. The car was left undamaged, but flying debris did pepper the paint and glass. I was put in charge of restoring its cosmetics. This totally rust free car was stripped down to bare metal, disassembled and repainted the original Falcon Gray with Aqua Green wheels, the only wheel color available with Falcon Gray. All glass was replaced with new and everything outside was rechromed. The interior is original and in excellent shape. The car has less than 300 miles since it was redone and the battery was replaced approximately 45 days ago. This is a radio delete car, options include turn signals, overdrive transmission, fog lights, chrome bumper accessories and Regal Deluxe trim. When one closes the doors on this low mileage car, the doors close solidly. You just can't restore that feeling into a high mileage car!!! NADA Price Guide has the following values on the the car, but mileage is not taken into account. Low Average High Retail Retail Retail $6325 $13475 $22440 My reserve price is well below the average price for this above average Business Coupe. I have been going to Studebaker meets for well over 35 years and have not run across an original/restored 1950 Business Coupe in as good of condition as this one. If you have any questions for me, you can contact me on my cell phone at 308-230-0149 or contact me through eBay. I have owned several Studebakers over the years and without a doubt, this is the best one I have had. Solid rust free floors The Business Coupe has only been shown 4 times since it was redone, the following are the results of those shows: 1996 SDC North Central Zone Meet - Best of Show. 1998 SDC International Meet - 1st Place. 2011 Counts Car Show in Rapid City, SD - Best Studebaker & Class Winner. 2012 High Plains Auto Club Father's Day Car Show - Class Winner Winning bidder is responsible for pickup or arranging transportation for the car. You are buying this car as is. A $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of close of auction (Paypal or cash) and full payment within 7 days. Thank you for looking and bidding
