Vehicle Detail

Hello to all Z lovers! Im sad to say I'm selling my 1972 240z, due to some health issues i cant afford to finish the project i have worked so hard on the past few years. Heres the scoop on my history with this vehicle. So I purchased the car 2 years ago, when i bought the car it had a year old paint job, looked good but new it would need attention in the near future. The rust areas were the floor pans just like the majority of other Z cars, and they were fiberglass repaired at the time of the new paint job. The underbody is in good shape, with factory coating still left in tact. The interior was 90 percent complete when i bought her, new carpet kit, weather seals, etc. but the air conditioning system was toasted so it was removed from the vehicle. Headliner in great shape, seats in good shape just one tear in the drivers seat, door panels in great shape. NO rust in storage compartments behind the seats. There are no other rust areas on the vehicle . She had stock 280zx turbo wheels at the time, the l24 straight six with dual webber carbs, a stage 2 cam, headers, and a two and a half inch exhaust system. I drove her daily for the first year of ownership, during this time I made many modifications to the car, heres a list of what was done: - 18% window tinting-Tinted headlight covers-ZG Flare kit-16X9 16X8 Staggard XXR wheels with tiger paw tires (grip the road great)-Billet wheel spacers ( the good kind with studs) 1 inch in front, 1/4 inch in rear- MSA Victory Wing-Poly Front Air Dam-RC Engineering 12 Gallon Fuel Cell-New fuel lines ran, feed and return -Front drilled and slotted rotors-MSD Blaster 2 coil- Rewired every ground in the wiring harness with all new thicker gauge wiring and connections. After these modifications were made i decided i wanted more power, and decided to go with a VG30ET engine from an 1984 300zx Turbo. So i found one in a local yard, pulled it, tore it down, and the engine was rebuilt with the following new parts: -Brand new crank-New pistons-New Bearings-New Oil Pump- New Water Pump- All new gaskets- New Starter-New timing belt-Felpro Headgaskets The block was taken to a reputable machine shop and bored 30 over . Had the heads pressure checked and cleaned, the block was hot tanked and cleaned. Should get a nice little power gain with the supporting modifications soon to be mentioned. after the engine and transmission were bolted together the engine was dropped in and custom engine mounts were made. The transmission mount was the original 240z mount modified to bolt to the T-5 borg warner transmission. I had the original driveshaft shortened and welded by a local driveshaft machine shop, and it was a perfect fit for the factory rear end. This rear end will not handle the full potential of this Engine swap but i planned to swap rear differentials out early on after the swap was completed. Heres a list of parts and fabrication that was done to make this swap happen. -Big Front mount intercooler ( new)-Koyo Radiator and Koyo Cap ( cap is new) Radiator used-All new intercooler piping-HKS III Blow off valve-Custom made turbo headers, i modified stock vg30 steel headers to be routed to the front of the engine- Custom 3 inch turbo back exhaust with a borla xr-1 brand new muffler-Modified steering shaft for downpipe clearance -custom radiator mounts, and intercooler mounts with bolt on design- New GT35 Turbocharger, from CX racing, water and oil cooled, feed and return oil lines already hooked up- dual E-fan setup from a mazda van, not hooked up yet-EGR delete plate-Adjustable fuel pressure regulator-Walbro 255lph fuel pump brand new-new intercooler piping and all new clamps and couplers-manual boost controller already hooked up-Prosport boost gauge already hooked up-Brand new stage 3 clutch Im sure im forgetting many things, but this is where the car sits now. There is about 12 hours worth more of work for an experienced mechanic and or gear head before this beast runs. I've spent over 300 hours of my own time building this car to where it sits today, and its so close! My hard work is someone elses gain with this project. Heres a list of what needs to be done so the car will run: NEEDS These to run: - The wiring harness is in the car with the ECU mounted already, just finish up the wiring, the ignition, starter etc..-A Gt35 turbo water feed and return kit, and put it on or just run oil, up to you-Needs a Battery-Needs fluids, oil and coolant- Needs a knock sensor-Throttle linkage needs to be done-hook up the slave cylinder- Needs transmission fluid still ( it is drained)- Needs a tensioner bracket fabricated for the alternator/water belt CONS: - few scratches here and there, and 3 ding marks on roof, hardly noticeable- driver side door handle on outside does not work but the inside latch does.-passenger door handle inside does not work but the outside one does (I know right, lame) **** I have the original owners manual that comes with the car as well, that's right, original and still all in one piece in the glove box. I also have a box full of receipts and maintenance that was done over the years. In this box also comes a bunch of old Z magazines and parts catalogs, these things are ancient but Awesome! Kind of like opening up a time capsule I'm not going to lie, really neat edition to go along with this classic. Extra parts that come with car: -the original engine comes with this deal, L24 with Dual WEBBER Carbs, Headers, Mallory ignition- both front and rear bumpers- 2 totes of spare z parts all kinds of miscellaneous parts. spare mirrors etc..- the wheels and tires that came on the car when i bought it.-spare rebuilt 280zx turbo 5 speed tranny-original radiator And thats it and she should fire right up. I have the receipts for the majority of the work done to the car including the machine work that was done. Im hoping to find a buyer that will take her in and put the small amount of work in thats needed for this beast to finally run the streets. She's so close! Comes with everything i have for it lots of spare parts. If you are interested and want to contact me, my name is Brandon and my number is 602-300-9208 call or text any time. Thank you and happy bidding!
