This is a 1979 VW Bus. The bus has been in California since new as evidenced by it's original front and rear "blue and yellow" license plates. The exterior is all original (paint, body, floors, etc). The bus has a beautiful original patina. There are areas of surface discoloration (mostly on roof), chips, nicks, dings, scratches etc. The is no actual rot or rust through any of the metal. The rear bumper does have some flaws. The overall condition of the body is excellent considering it's age and originality. Mechanically the bus it tip top. The engine sounds very healthy and the acceleration is smooth and positive. This VW runs extremely well. The dometer reading is 5,581 we assume it has been around at least once before however we cannot verify actual miles beacuse of the 5 digit odometer. The clutch feels great and shifting through all the gears is effortless. She handles the road nicely and drives solid down the road. The entire drive train is very tight and the engine is quiet. The fronts seats have been nicely redone once before and look great! All the rest of the interior is completely original. Both door panels still have the ventilators in tact (rare). The climate control levers are still in place which is also not often seen. The rubber matting still remains in very good condition for it's age and obviously the middle row seat is in place. The headliner does have a few minor imperfection but still looks good and serves it's purpose. These VW's are getting hard to find especially in this kind of shape. The rubber seals and weather stripping are dry and would be something you would want to replace if you were to restore. Otherwise this bus is ready for the beach or just cruising around town. It is very attractive in it's present state however if you wanted to make a bus perfect this would be the one you would want to restore.
