1970 Double Cab. I purchased this vehicle about 5 years ago and it has been sitting in my garage ever since. It has made a nice storage bench but the time has come for this project to be passed on to someone with the time and motivation to complete it. When I bought this truck it was running just fine. I took it out for a cruise in the country one day and the engine cut off. It lost spark somehow and I just never got around to messing with it. Probably the points but I dont know. I do know that it is ignition related. The transmission shifted ok but it clunks a little going into second occasionally. I only drove it for about 200 miles or so. It has some rust and patches but the body and frame appears pretty solid. It has obviously been given the camo treatment at somepoint. It actually looks pretty darn cool and gets tons of looks and compliments. The interior is decent and the seats have been recently recovered. Thats really about all I know about this VW. I had grand intentions to fix her up but just lost interest. These are hard to find and it would make a fantastic resto or rat rod project for someone. Feel free to ask any questions. Thanks!! Milage says 71145 but its probably more like 171145 lol, title said 260,000 so I guess its unknown! Some people have been asking about rust. The frame rails, engine bay and bed are solid with nothing more than some very light surface rust. Most of the rust is along the very bottom of the body panels. Some of it has been filled, but not very well. Yes there is rust but its not a rusted out junker!
