1929 Ford Roadster Shay Reproduction Car, built in 1979 by Model A and Model T Production Co. This car has been modified, and the owner calls it ‘rodded’ and even with a 4 cyl engine - offers economy and sleek looks and style! A real head turner and the pearl black color paint is a real treat for the classic Ford look! The car was repainted professionally just 3 years ago and looks great. It is special to note that this car is the 3rd one produced, Shay produced 2 experimental cars before production, this car could be the first true production car, out of approx 4800 built, or at lease the 3rd production car out of 4800. Also these cars were commissioned by Ford Motor Co, one for every dealer ship in the United States. There are 6 original tires that came with this car, as well as several parts that are all included. Those parts include original head lights, 2 door pulls, lug nuts, sun visor/windshield wings, license plate tag, mirror harness for spare tires, running boards, step plates, windshield wiper motor, tail lights with blue crystals in center also. There is a cover, the frame is fine and needs re-covered with leather. The original top is torn. The car has a 4 cyl, engine the same that were used in the Pintos - a 2.2 liter engine. They have the Pinto drive train as well. The car has a 4 speed manual transmission also. The speedometer is not accurate, as the bigger tires were added and the gauges have been affected. There is a single exhaust, with a cherry bomb muffler. Heater works fine, emergency brakes and the car starts, shifts and drives very smoothly. Steering is tight, and the engine does not leak oil.
