Vehicle Detail

There is a title, but I never had it transferred. This is a 1982 EURO Porsche 928,therefore the VIN will not list anyway so I had to put 1980 under the description or it wouldnt take because of the EURO number, but trust me its an '82 model.I have a clear title from the previous owner. All the idiot lights and controls are in German.A pro drag racer in Minnesota built this. The mileage is on the whole car.I do not know when this was actually installed.I believe the block is from a 1986 truck(heavier duty?)From all the paperwork alot of things were being done in 1999 and 2000,so it was around then. This year Porsche and model do NOT rust,so there is no body rust at all.The car was repainted in Ferrari yellow and is shiny. There is one spot that needs touched up by the front wheel, but its not bad and may need a quick touch around windows, and possibly near the fame if you want, but again nothing major.I believe this is a Chevy 350 or altered to a 355 with a Weiand blower atop twin Holley 4 barrel carbs. This is hooked to a Mercedes Benz automatic and goes into the Porsche rear end.Its also equipped with CUSTOM PORSCHEVY flame gauges(see pics).Anyone who knows their stuff can turn this into a prime showstopper easily. The interior is ok,but thats what needs the most attention.I have not even driven this much, maybe 5 miles, but it RUNS trust me.Here are the outstanding issues.Being it has 106k on it,it will need the rear axles replaced soon.Or change the rear set up to something easier to find parts for.I would go for an all GM drivetrain. It has a sunroof but either the motor is shot or the switch is bad.It will open, but won't close. It will need also some of the power window motors replaced or again could be bad switches or wiring. The interior isnt bad, there are no rips I know of but a bit worn.To make this truly spectacular, thats where it needs the work.It has the oversized EURO brakes and those work well. The car runs better if you shift through the gears manually. The motor generates so much power, left in drive it will lag a bit if you "hit it".As a cruiser,as you can imagine this turns EVERY head.I don't know the horsepower, suffice to say its "plenty" lol.I need something a little quieter and milder in my old age,but to be honest, this car ROCKS!I don't know alot about this,I will answer questions as best I can.I am deaf,so shippers will have to EMAIL ME for pick-up days and times.Phoning is useless, make sure they KNOW that!!The winning bidder will send 500.00 NON REFUNDABLE payment through paypal within 2 days of auctions end.Balance due will be by bank cashiers check within 7 days.I can hold the car until shipping arrangements are made,if in a timely manner.I know we all have different schedules etc,so I will work with you on that.Although it runs I wont be driving it since its not licensed(plates) that are up to date.I really don't need a ticket and the new battery I got is now DOA,so it will need a new battery.Ask questions before bidding.Make sure you have the funds available, because we all hate non paying tire kickers.Do NOT bid if you do not have these funds available or intent to follow through.Remember your bid is a BINDING CONTRACT and will be treated as a broken contract legally if you fail to follow through.Non paying bidders will be pursued. After all it costs me time and money to list,so ask your wife, girlfriend, boss, dog, grandmother or anything/anyone else for needed permission before bidding.Shipping is at the buyers expense. The battery is now dead and I won't be buying another one,I have other cars to work on.Your chance to own a truly remarkable machine and one, with some effort, could be a superior show car anywhere. If you ask a question I dont know,I will respond with "I don't know".This is not a blowoff,it just means I'm honest and I DONT KNOW!!!! lol.Great car, could be phenominal in the right hands.Underside is clean,no major issues I can see.The wing on the back is a bit loose(slight),that will need tightened up.It also has an onboard battery chargert that will need a wire reconnected. Most of what it needs is "busy work" A switch here or there, easy stuff you can do over time. There is a full size spare and a space saver spare I will include with the sale, but those just sit in back as the battery takes up that spot now lol.The shop where it was had the flexplate re-done(like a torque converter on a tranny). The rear axles/bearings were re-packed but they make noise and why those will need replaced ASAP or opt for the complete changeover. It was driven there(to the shop 15 miles each way) and back without incident. The headlights work fine(or did-its been sitting awhile). It also has custom made floor mats color keyed to the paint.Just another nice little touch lol.Passenger window works but very slow.Drivers window motor will need replaced or bad switch/wiring issue.Gauges seem to work although a few are redundant and the uneeded ones disconnected.Turn signals seem to work.Like I said interior/electrical is what needs the attention, may need additional switches or rewired or whatever. On the blower side it says "Cheney Performance"(Minnesota).I'm assuming thats who built the awesome motor.Anyway, last pic is a close up of blower assembly.I would recommend enclosed shipping due to what it is and the sunroof is not closed all the way.Once its warmed up it idles fine,it was holding at about 180 degrees water temp at idle, which for a drag motor seems reasonable.Ask any questions before bidding,I will answer them to the best of my limited ability.Fix it up,part it out, your call.I now have too many toys,so this has to go regardless. My loss, your gain.I will use the funds to fix up the others I own.Again,if you are unsure of ANYTHING in the description-ASK for more detail. But this is a sweet machine I just no longer have time for.Take it away!
