Vehicle Detail
1964 Ford Falcon Futura I didn't have to travel far to get this one. It was right in my own backyard. I was actually bicycling by and met a nice woman painting a classic victorian house. She amicably accepted my phone number and about a month later I received a call. The man was on the fence about selling his car as he was in deep with it. Since he no longer drove it much, it seemed like a good time to contemplate a sale. Little did I know I would be subjected to an interview process and luckily for me, my offer was accepted. This little falcon was parked on a busy cross street and many would be hot rodders were turned down. The man was adamant this was a cool cruiser and didn't want it hacked up and monkey wrenched. The man told me he had gone to Portland recently in the little falcon and it had made it there and back without a hitch. He did tell me that she burnt a bit of oil and was concerned that the environmentalists might get down on me. I declined his offer for a test drive as he was dog walking buddies with my partner who had accompanied me. He told me the falcon was good to go and I believed him. So happily off I went to have a deli sandwich by the water and I have been driving it ever since. From the water to the hills I go every day without fear or hesitation. There is a thick binder of receipts from the previous owner who made sure this classic stayed on the road. It's very original and also has some nice sounds if you prefer music over the hum of the V8 engine. As you can see, there is an extra transmission included in the deal and right now it's shifting fine and shows no hint of giving up. I travelled on the freeway to go check out a classic vette and I love the unassuming nature of this cool classic. It could be polished up quite a bit and I just may do that for the satisfaction. The brakes are good. The tires are good. The transmission shifts fine. It starts up without hesitation. What more could you ask for in a cool California rust free classic?
