You are bidding on a beautiful ’68 Buick GS400 convertible with a 4-speed transmission. Although this car originally had an automatic transmission, try to find a ’68 GS400 convertible with its original factory 4-speed, let alone buy one at the price I am willing to sacrifice this car for. According to production records, only about 350 were made! And even though not original to the car, great lengths were taken to make this as “original” as possible. The Muncie M21 transmission is from 1968. The Hurst shifter is an original Buick shifter. The console with tachometer could have been ordered with this car when new. This car won “Best 68-69 GS Convertible” at the GS Nationals in 1988. Since then it has been well cared for, but is no longer a concourse car. It is a solid driver and if someone wanted to bring it back to its former glory, it would be a great car to do so. Or just leave it as it is and drive it for fun. Either way it’s a winner. Below are specifications. In keeping with full disclosure, the engine threw a rod, not due to abuse, but due to the ignition timing being too far advanced because of a misinterpretation of the timing mark that was highlighted on the pulley. The engine was completely rebuilt professionally and runs strong with no known issues. There is a small exhaust leak at the gasket where the left shorty header mounts to the exhaust manifold. There is some clutch chatter in reverse. It is fine and strong in all forward gears. The factory AM radio does not work. The mileage claimed is assumed. The odometer does not display hundred thousands so I am assuming it to be what is displayed (10155) plus 100,000.
