THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION 1971 MGBGT GREAT BARN FIND You are bidding on a 1971 MGBGT. We have had this car for 3 years, and before that it had not been on the road for 15 years. I removed the head, had it built for unleaded gas and replaced with new gaskets, cleaned the fuel system, rebuilt the carbs and started it. It ran strong. At that time we painted it and stored it in the back of the shop for another two years. Months ago we got it running again and started getting it ready for the road. I rebuilt the front suspension with all new bushings and replaced the transmission mounts. Sandblasted and painted the wire wheels, the tires are okay but it is not a matching set. I would recommend getting a new set of tires so they will all match. Replaced the brake master cylinder, shoes, pads and brake hoses. Replaced clutch and all clutch hydraulics. Rebuilt the steering rack and replaced the main wiring harness. We installed new carpet, and replaced and added some foam to the seats. Replaced the door panels and other side panels and replaced most of the switches. Installed new door seals and new rear hatch seals. This is definately not a show car and does need some attention. The horn is not working, there is no radio or antenna, the aluminum around the windows and doors needs to be redone. Bumpers are straight but chrome shows some age. Overall a great daily driver and gas saver. But mechanically this is a good car. Starts first time, oil pressure is about 50 lbs and runs cool. Questions are recommended, test drives are welcome as well as inspection at the shop.
