Vehicle Detail

Hi Fellow eBay'ers, Up for sale is my Convertible 1967 Ford Fairlane 500, it was made at the Lorain Ohio Ford plant. Its a 2 door with the original 289 Engine and the original C4 Transmission. I bought this car in 2003 and drove it yr around for a number of years, i had the transmission completely rebuilt a few years ago and replaced the orgional heater with an aftermarket heater, so this guy will keep you Warm in the winter. I will be moving at the end of August and wont have the garage or driveway space to keep this beauty, so i would like to get it into the hands of someone who will appreciate it. I stopped driving this car about 2yrs ago because the Ignition started giving me some trouble, i parked it saying i would get to it later, but just never did. If i were going to still keep this car i would buy a new wiring harness and redo the wiring under the dash. There are a ton of aftermarket wiring harness' you can buy online and they are easy to install because everything is labeled. Its true that you could install your own push button starter, or other method easier, but if you want to do it right, i would suggest the harness. The arms inside the doors that roll the windows up and down are the only other thing i would plan on fixing. The windows were originally set to roll up and down on these plastic wheels, but the heat of the desert dried these plastic guys up and they broke some time back. They still roll up and down right now, but they are set up with a system of plastic zip-ties right now. If you have any Qs, please don't hesitate to ask. I can be reached at (505) 615-0319 if you would like to reach me. Thanks. FAQsThe ignition needs work, the headlights, turn signals, interior lights, etc all work great, but when you turn the key, nothing happens. The car will start if you bump it off the solenoid with a screw driver, but won't start from the key.Has an alarm system with remote.Motor runs solid, the previous owner told me that someone did do a rebuild in the past, but wasn't sure when. The Rag Top on the convertible is in excellent shape, the back window still opens and closes separate from the top if desired, and the convertible top is motorized and still works great.Come with the complete repair manual for any work that you may need to do.Really easy to find parts, in the late 60s Ford made several different models all from the same parts, which compared to other models makes it very easy to find parts.Has after market Centerline Rims, has huge rims on the rear of the vehicle which give it that raised up hotrod look.Clean Title! No rust! Straight frame! .No major body work needed, has only the smallest of nic's and they are hard to spot unless your really looking for them.A previous owner at some point added the extra GT scoops to the hood, but its not a GT, its a 500.The New Mexico sun has had years to work its magic on the interior seats, expecially since its a convertible, so the inside is really sun bleached. Needs interior door panels, the interior door panels were made from some kind of 60's particle board, the NM sun completely dried the wood out and left it really brittle. So i removed them thinking i would just buy new ones from the catalogue. But i just never got around to it. The current black paint job is still really shiny, but the best i can tell, this car has been painted 5 times, red, baby blue, orange, white and now black. Because there are so many layers of paint on the car, it was effected by the sun, so there are chips and cracking in the paint. On Jul-13-12 at 20:47:09 PDT, seller added the following information: On a side note, i know how difficult it can be to buy cars and other such things here on eBay when your not available to see the car in person before making a decision. Pictures and the angles at which they were took can make it hard to see everything. So please, if there are any details or questions i can answer to help provide any confidence in bidding, just give me a call or shoot me an eMail and let me know. Thanks! On Jul-17-12 at 18:36:23 PDT, seller added the following information: Hi Everyone. So as it turns out, i already fixed the windows 2 summers ago and i just completely spaced out on it. I fixed them the summer after i stopped driving the car, so 2 summers ago. So the windows actually work fine and you will not have to worry about them. The drivers side window crank has gone a little weak, so after you roll the window up it comes back down an inch or two. Other then adjusting that you will not have to do the work i described above. Sorry about that. Thanks for bidding!!!
